I wonder if it’s that much different from original.

That was going to be my question.

And what is a "European Style Mild Lager?"

FWIW -- according to the Weihenstephaner website the new Helles is 4.8 to the Original's 5.1 and 16 IBU to 21. So there is probably a little discernable difference.

Fresh Weihenstephaner of anything they make works for me. Having a Pilsner right now as we speak.

Wish they’d make a vienna lager

Pretty much everything they touch is gold. I'd wait in ( a reasonable) line for a vienna lager by them.

Did you find an ingredient list somewhere? I only checked the Weihenstephaner DE website thru my phone and it's pretty jumpy.

Where'd you get the text clip so that I can go there and give them a 'Prost!'?

Now that's something to celebrate! We're excited to share that Vitus has won SILVER, and our brand new Helles Lager has won GOLD at the 2020 European Beer Star Awards...Since the Helles is Gold Medal worthy, should we launch it in the US in 2021? Comment below...if you'd like to see it stateside! PROST!

2 of the most commonly used hops in Bavaria these days. But no mention of what's used in the Original. Have to do some digging.

In the video he also says (at about :50) that the new helles should not be confused with the Original, which is staying in its original recipe. And that the brewery wanted to offer a new kind of helles in its portfolio, something a bit milder and smoother.

I’ll need to do several side-by-sides to figure out what that means.

Hard to believe anything could be smoother than a Helles, especially Weihenstephaner Helles.

Except, maybe another Weihenstephaner Helles.:thinking_face:
