Have a good Sunday. My gf came over last night and we went to a skyline chili. But took us 2 hours to even get out of the house. We had dinner in the car. Then came home and shared the edible. Just finished up some combos. She did ruffles and reeses xmas tree. We got an even better selfie than last week. We are watching rifftrax on Pluto TV now. We were both really into MST3K already.

I’ll gladly argue these are two of the best barrel programs out there. I’ll give a comparison later.

Good Morning - I trust and hope that everyone is safe and well during these most interesting times...

Issues with postimages.org, ended up going to imgur...

    4.54/5 rDev +7.1%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.5

Bottled on 1 April 2015, Best Before 1 April 2020...stored and aged in cellar conditions

6.9%abv (+/-) depending with whom you speak

Poured into an Orval Chalis (gifted to me by the staff of a nice establishment in Brussels) a murkey tan with interesting white to off-white cap of tightly bound bubbles which dissipated relatively quickly (as compared to a younger vintage)

On the nose, classic Orval highlights - pungent malts, yeasts and Orval Barnyard Funk (brettanomyces) which has taken center stage - front and center - reminiscent of a fine French Vin Rouge and Fromage - les pieds des anges, or the feet of angels, which can be off putting to some, but once one acquires the taste, one craves the taste - and this is only the nose...

The taste follows the nose up front, through the middle and back and a bit thin (an artifact of aging perhaps?), but a taste most delightful and satisfying...sediment/yeast cake remains...

Even though this is not my first Orval, the nature of the brewing method and aging always yields up front, in your face, tastes and subtle nuances which linger and beg to be savored and contemplated.

    Another rewarding experience.

    Thanks for reading....

    Cheers.

[IMG] @superspak you look pretty damn happy, cheers to you Ian. I am starting with this local, that is trying to change can art and get themselves back into the game in NH. This is a tasty NEDIPA. Cheers all.

I could not agree more. I just put a few more Rev cans in the fridge for later.

    Cheers!

Starting off this dreary, rainy morning with a Founders Imperial Stout. So glad they brought this back. World class IMO.

    Enjoy your Sunday Everyone!

One and likely done with this heavy hitter today, a most enjoyable KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge. Full review in the NBS 820 / NBW 17 thread. Saving this with more than half to go 40 minutes in. A most perfect start to a perfect Sunday morning for mid-November Chicago.

More intense than my typical Sunday accompaniment, but enough mellow sequences and most complementary in terms of theme.

Good day BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer comes from @FBarber in a BIF12 LIF:

Oops - postimages is down - no pic now.

Anyway - Moored Dirigible from Hop Butcher and @FBarber. A good Murican IPA that seems more like a NEIPA to me. Raing 4, rDev -3.4%.

Was re-reading some of the wbaydn threads from this time last year. Interesting to see who is still posting today, and who isn’t. If you look back to the 2576 thread, you’ll see a lot of posts from @bowzer4birdie , @joe1510 , @BigPoppa ...yet some familiar things too, like an opening post from @JamFuel followed by a post from @SawDog505 . And a lot of drunken ramblings from @vabeerguy at the end of the thread. That day’s thread went 17 pages too. Memories.

I’ve been up since 5am...after walking/feeding the dogs, I’ve experimented all morning with several photo hosting sites given Postimage has gone AWOL this weekend. Most sites are not image sharing friendly for mobile devices, at least not as far as I could reckon...

This morning’s new beer is courtesy of @mschrei - Poputchik (2018), RIS from Energy City Brewing, Batavia, IL:

A fine, roasty stout. Thanks Matt! Working on notes for NBW. I’ve several reviews from this weekend recorded in my log book that I could post; maybe later today? Cheers Sunday virtual bar mates!
