I'm in. I have a 2018 BCBS I was planning on drinking tonight until @ChicagoJ mentioned this in the cellar forum. I have no idea what my usual bottle places will have on black friday so I'll participate at least once.

Definite "maybe." I have releases from several different years, no variants. If I can talk a couple of my BA buddies into splitting them with me, I'm in.

this is the problem for me with these beers especially since the new fancy bigger bottles. It’s a lot to put down in one sitting without some help.

I’ll try my best though to join.

16.9 oz is significant for this ABV level, but do appreciate vs. the 22 oz bomber variants back in the day. GI serves at 5 oz at their brewpubs, other breweries I've visited serve similar offerings at 5-10 oz. 8-12 oz is my preferred size for a strong imperial stout, wish all came in 8 or 12 oz bottles or cans.

Taping the top and splitting over several hours or two days after refrigerating may work, though I definitely note the drop off in mouthfeel and taste complexity when I have tried this in the past (with a different offering I won't mention).

500ml (or 16.9 oz for us 'Mer'cans) is too much for one sitting, but not too much for one day, and stoppering the bottle for a few hours doesn't lose anything perceptible, IMO.

I plan on 1 per day at most for the tasting. All will be from 2018-19 because, unless something falls in my lap (or on an online order inventory for a local store), I won't be getting any of this year's releases.

I won’t do anymore than one per day(still want to be lucid) but I’ve already locked in all the variants PA is receiving so I’ll be ready to go. Still have most of last year’s variants as well, so may break one or two of those out.

Have zero interest in buying any of this year's...but I may crack open a vintage one and participate.

You know I'm in @ChicagoJ. No idea what I'll end up drinking yet, but we'll gigue it out as it gets closer.

Probably won’t be getting any 2020s until late Sunday, but I’ve been looking for a reason to open my 2019 Reserve Rye and this tasting fits the bill. I really wish I had last year’s prop but this should be a nice consolation.

Great, look forward to reading about your experience.

Yes, I haven't nailed a final lineup, beyond two older coffees 2014 (12 oz) vs. 2016 (16.9 oz).

Awesome, you're ahead of where I am this year in terms of locking down anything. Also nice to see an Alabama fan, Roll Damn Tide!!!

I may crack out a 2019 Reserve Rye as well, didn't have a chance to drink last year.

I'm still hoping to secure at least a partial allocation this year with the two remaining lotteries I'm in. I came close with Beer Temple but failed after hitting submit.

Agreed. In fact, I have found a wine stopper does the trick for up to 48hrs without much dropoff. I have even had a few I thought improved overnight.

I drank1/2 bottle of a ‘19 BCBS last night, put a wine stopper in it and stuck it in the fridge overnight. It tasted fine this morning. I often will just drink 1/2, then finish it the next day. Looking forward to the tasting!

I agree with this, it’s what I do any time I open a 750 ml I can’t finish. Gotta say the same thing, there have been some that taste better the second day.

I have 2 bottles of the regular Stout from different dates in 2016, and a 2016 Barleywine I'm thinking about possibly drinking, since I have more than a few different Barleywines for a potential Barleywine Tasting in the future, and have been thinking about popping the BCBBW for some time. There is a store in my town that pretty much always has previous year BCBS in stock, and even still have some Café de Olla from last year but it's around $25 and I'm not super interested in the flavor combo so I never got it. Haven't even bought a new BCBS in years, I do like when I drink them though and BCBS was the first bourbon barrel aged stout I ever had actually, on tap at a restaurant back in 2014 or '15. I plan on having a couple of the aged bottles on hand and might see if I can get a variant or something newer around Black Friday and that weekend. Cheers @ChicagoJ for setting this up!

I doubt that I'll be getting any 2020 in time for the tasting, but that won't stop me. I've always got a few vintage bottles laying around, plus there are still 2019s to be had in the stores still. See you all then!

Aww yeah, I'm in. Like others, I have no plans to buy any of this year's releases, but I have '18 & '19 regular and '19 Reserve Rye to choose from. Will likely only drink 1or 2 of those over the weekend.

I have a 16-19 vertical, but I also have individuals of the 19 reserve rye, 18 orange, and 18 bcbs. I'll be making my run on black friday to 2 distro areas to see what variants I can grab. Last year, I was able to see which variants were going out to my area because I'm a contractor in AB, but I didn't get into the warehouse yet this year to see what was on pallets to go out. I'm sure it's gone by now, but I may still try to take a peek.
