Beyond thrilled that they added the crowler option on the pre-sale - even if it immediately cost me $100

As @bread_c and @FleskBrewFan mentioned, the presale emails went out. The Rev CFO (@BeerCruncher ) posted here last week it would go out to the top 600-700 point earners, on points earned dating back to 1/1/19.
What he did NOT mention is that two limited crowlers would also be for sale for $50 each:
-Double Barrel V.S.O.D. Apple Brandy Single Barrel
-Form of the Destructor Barrel #3832

So yeah, my neighbor @tiffman got one and I got the other and we'll safely/antiseptically share those soon! (Rev's site says: "**For optimal freshness and carbonation, we recommend consuming within 72 hours of pickup.**")
Because of this expected/unexpected treat, I had to pass on the two new syrups (SD and DBC versions), which are available to the public now:

Good luck to all - CHEERS!

This is certainly a costly trip to Rev.

I wanted to rank but I have way too many 5.0s and 4.75s for Rev beers on Untappd.

These crowlers sound like they might join those high scorers!

I like to load up on 12 packs in between Deep Wood releases to average out the cost of the Rev visits on my Visa....

I grabbed them thinking my usual share partner would be down to split them. He isn't interested so I'll be soloing mine unless I find a partner in crime. They better be tasty for the way I'll feel the day after! :grimacing:

Deep Woods glasses are back as well, so add $10 to your Revolution budget. Ordered another four pack of West Coast-Hero IPA, one of the best WCIPAs I've had on any coast, and of course Riot as well.

Have a vertical already of Straight Jacket at home, so will postponed 2020 until I clear some of my existing stock.

If there’s no additional sale, would be open to discussing share if interested (depending on location). Have a lot of other things to expand with too it wanted to turn into larger (people and beers) thing. If not, no problem.

    For the curious:

DBVSOD APPLE BRANDY SINGLE BARREL CROWLER
After eighteen months in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, this Deth's Tar sweet component was blended and rebarreled in 28 Weller bourbon barrels and one Apple Brandy barrel. This is that one. Fudge, American oak, and apple brandy combine harmoniously in this most satisfying of variants. 14.8% ABV (32oz Crowler)

FORM OF THE DESTRUCTOR — BARREL NO. 3832 CROWLER
Mother of all Money Barrels. Sanctuary of Sanctuaries. Stokebringer. Of the thousands of barrels we've tasted over the past decade none stand out quite like this one. This singular example of DBVSOD spent eighteen months in Heaven Hill barrels before being rebarreled in a Weller Special Reserve barrel for an additional year. Brownie crust, vanilla, graham, and bakers chocolate evolve from the glass as it warms, while American oak tannin and alcohol leave the palate dry and yearning for more after each sip. 16.66% ABV (32oz Crowler)

Yeah, I did that this past Saturday and thought it was a complete rip off. My wife likes brewery shirts so I bought the mystery bag. Got 1 can of Deth's Tar and 1 can of Ryeway. Both cans beat up and not in good shape. The shirt was an Oktoberfest shirt, and not really a nice one. I doubt she ever wears it, except maybe as a shirt to paint in. Complete waste of $30.

That’s all for now, though we saved a few sixtels to throw it on draft whenever we are able to reopen the Taproom. So hopefully there’s still a chance to try down the road.

I got the Oktoberfest shirt & actually really liked it...super soft/comfortable.

I think Ryeway & Deth's are both great beers, but I'm sorry if my post here led you to be disappointed.

Post vaccine, just seek me out & I'll buy you a beer. I'm the fat guy with the neckbeard.
