This post is your fault, then.

An interview with Guy Fawkes, conducted by Guy Fawkes. Part 2 in what I truly hope is NOT an ongoing series.

Q: I hate to see that signature 32oz black and red can on a Monday night. I'm hoping that's a Jean Baptiste? A Froh Munich Helles? Perhaps a Point du Sable?
A: It's a Bears game on Monday night during the Foles/Trubisky era. Even the wins aren't smooth sailing; I needed something stronger than that.

Q: So what did you go with?
    A: Maple Deth.

Q: I'll assume you alerted work you won't be in tomorrow. Correct?
    A: (20 seconds of silence)

Q: OK...so what's your takeaway from the crowler version of Maple Deth?
A: Going in, I assumed that once this hit room temperature the maple would really express itself. However, the bourbon & oak were the notes that really jumped out after it warmed; the maple remained balanced & elegant throughout. Revolution preaches balance on these dessert stouts, and that remained the case throughout this crowler. Maple is present, for sure, and gets a bit more pronounced, but it's the barrel (and the spirit it held) that shines here. Overall, a damn fine beer.

Q: So...are you going to work tomorrow?
    A: TBD.

You are literally the only person on this board who hopes this is not an ongoing series.

Sooo, in honor of the FOBAB medal - I pulled out one of my last cans of Ten Year Beer and am drinking it now. Good lord this beer has aged so well. The cherries are a bit more integrated into the beer and its lovely - like drinking a decadent spiced fruit cake.

    GuyFawkes: Well....no
    Boss: You’re hungover aren’t you
GuyFawkes: Ha! Shows what you know. I only had ONE beer last night

I have had some of their BA crowlers nearly a year after release and they showed well. Maybe I just got lucky.

However, I will say that I’ve noticed them being noticeably low filled at times. So, maybe that could impact it?

Drank a 2017 Ryeway crowler last month filled at source in July 2019, and it was great. Maybe slightly low carb? But wouldn't have even thought about it but for the age.

Kudos, my man. Last night I drank a single 12oz can of 2019 Ryeway and it kicked my ass.

I really enjoy how easy this is to order these deep woods series beers. Also enjoy not standing in line when it’s cold for hours...

So for these releases, when you go pick up, do they actually come bring the beer to your car? Is contactless?

You pull up in from of the taproom on the side of the road - they have 4 tents set up and you are directed to one of them where someone from Rev puts your order in the trunk of your car.

Yeah I’m with you. Do NOT miss fighting traffic into the city on a Friday evening, searching for neighborhood parking, standing in line for a couple hours, and then fighting traffic back to the burbs.

Now I order online, pick Noon on Sunday pickup, and don’t have to fight traffic. What used to be 4-5 hours on a Friday night is now an hour/hour fifteen on a Sunday afternoon. I hope lines never come back

Yeesh, Rev is seriously making it too easy to drop fat stacks of cash on beer. My bank account would be hurting if other breweries' releases were this quick and smooth.

3 weeks until the next one! Excited for DB VSOD as I’m sure everyone is. I picked up the Deth by Cherries syrup today and I’m excited to get into the hype condiments game

I took it easy with this purchase as the budget is getting beat to holy hell this last couple weeks. Benthic, BCBS, Luchadores, and now a Rev release... and I'm skipping a couple big ones... lol. Ended up going with 1xDBC, 1xHJ, and a bottle of the DBC syrup. Love how easy these Rev releases are. No fighting the computer and browser. Just casually stroll in, add what I want to the cart, and I'm done.
