According to a recent Instagram post they ship orders on Monday and Thursday, so it makes sense that your Friday order would arrive on a Tuesday. It's not clear if they officially use overnight shipping, but it really shouldn't be an issue for UPS to get a package somewhere in MA the next day. It's a small state.

 

I’d love to do this! But, sadly, the signature is a deal breaker for me. I can’t work from home. Any way around this?

 

Have it sent to the next door neighbor who maybe does work from home and can sign. Toss them a 4-pack for their trouble.

Agree though, that is a tricky part. I work from home full time during all this. I haven't made an order, but I've also made store order deliveries that have showed up when I've had my hands full with my son. While I haven't had to sign or show ID or anything, you have to accept the delivery and it's not left on my porch like a pizza delivery.

 

You can order it and UPS will attempt to deliver it. Because you won’t be home, they will leave a slip on your door with a code/number on it. Go to ups.com and enter the number in the relevant field. From there, you can have the package redirected to the nearest store that handles UPS services, a place like Michael’s, the craft store. Other places have this service too. UPS will direct you to the place closest to you. Only problem with this is that there is an additional $10 hold fee per package. I don’t know if you can have the package shipped directly to a UPS affiliated store, but it might be worth finding out. But again, there is the additional cost and of course, added aggravation. This is what happened to me with my first order. For my second order, the order I placed yesterday, I expect to be home.

 

Done. I've got a case of beer coming my way Thursday (Friday? IDK). I'm gonna kick myself for skipping Standard, but I did 2x Tenner, Salem Lager, Altbier, and 2x Black Lager (because @AlcahueteJ made me do it. He's an online bully and I don't know why Melania hasn't done anything about him).

 

I went 2x Tenner and 2x Black Lager.

 

Ordered Notch shipping. Went through on Monday and delivered this morning. Very smooth process. Can't wait to side by side the Schwarz with a Bingo Black Lager.

 

I’m still confused by the selective shipping. MA and ME are in; Threes Brewing ships to seven states, including CT and MA. Are there agreements at the local level? Or just discreet shipping to states where there is demand?

 

I would 100% order beer via UPS from Fox Farm, if anyone from there is reading (also representatives of Side Project, Russian River, Modern Times, and Oxbow pay attention).

 

I can cosign this. I had to line up a proxy at Side Project and lets just say it wasn't very cost effective.

 

I was at Side Project a couple years back. I was traveling alone, so I made a friend and we each bought two bottles to split with one another. Ended up grabbing six beers to go too. Expensive, expensive drinking experience.

In a very real way, I’m happy to don’t live close enough to be able to go often.

Ok so my delivery arrived today (Wednesday). Ordered Monday morning, said it would arrive Tuesday, cam today. I can live with that for sure.

And the schwartz....absolutely incredible. So delicate yet complex.

 

I ordered Friday night (11/13), got the "your order has shipped" email/text from Notch Monday night (11/16), beer arrived Wednesday around 5PM (11/18). I'm in Hingham.

 

I think part of that is that, at least for mine, it wasn't "shipped" until late Tuesday night. I didn't have an expected arrival date but I knew it wasn't coming on Tuesday when it wasn't picked up by UPS during business hours on Tuesday.

 

Hey all, thanks for the mail order enthusiasm and questions, a few answers:

We ship end of day Monday and Thursday via UPS and most spots in MA will receive next day. We had one issue this week where UPS did not arrive for the pick-up on Mon, so it went out on Tues instead. This has been worked out and should not happen again.

Where we ship is a function of state law, the cost of licensing, the type of license and the red tape involved to make it happen. CT for example is a red tape nightmare, maybe other breweries have figured it out, but it was a non-starter for us. ME we pulled back on, as our attorney and the state of ME have different interpretations of the law, so it was not worth the effort to fight. So we are MA only for a bit, but working on other state opportunities now.
