Fair enough. It just came off odd to me that people would defend it and/or just blow it off like some in here have done.

Based on what I’ve heard this was an Oznr issue / them running it early by mistake

I mean, it’s an accident. Selecting 2pm instead of 8pm. Who knows, maybe the app used military time (as developers favor), and that caused confusion. Its the same as accidentally marking a field required (eg, truffles). Shit happens, people fuck up. Most of the time, errors like those can actually be blamed on poor user experience (trust me, it’s my field). The customer facing side of Oznr sucks ass, so I can’t imagine the business side is any better.

There’s too much good beer available right now to throw a fit over this.

No one is throwing a fit over it, though?

    Touché.

But shouldn’t we call them out for this? It’s not “honest”. I’m sure there were people that saw it while they were working or out on errands or doing anything else in life that couldn’t get to it at that time, but they trusted what they saw to think they had time later to enter. And then.... nope.

I'm sending in my goons to file a lawsuit to overturn the results and allow people to enter for an additional 6 hours.

I totally lost, so I'm just hoping for a redo and another chance to get a bottle, haha.

Not sure if I’m throwing a fit, as it didn’t impact me. But you can’t just say it’s OK to do stuff like this. The app is what they make people use, so it’s part of their business and if it goes wrong, it’s on them. I’ve actually found Oznr to be pretty user friendly recently, despite the awful name, though.

That's assuming that you have the app installed and already set up an account. If you found out about it today (say, from a co-worker who spends way too much time on this forum) and thought "I'll take care of it after work," you got hosed. As far as f*ck-ups go, this isn't major but I can see how folks could be disappointed.

Wasn't there another release that got screwed up when they opened sales an hour or two early? Or was that a different brewery?

I wouldn't look it that way, personally. People forget to take their medicine all the time and that takes 2 seconds, about the time to click 2 buttons, besides having health implications (almost as important as beer!). I know how busy I am and I constantly miss releases & entries until someone reminds me when they ask, 'hey did you enter lottery?' If the statement was that the open window was to be 48 hours, I think most people expect 48.

But to the point of many on here, I also understand this is their first release on that app and it's 2020. I expect they will improve and work out the issues, and this is a relatively small one. Let's just hope it doesn't develop into issues like Benthic releases seem to have the last few years. Lessons don't appear to be learned with that one.

I did enter this lottery and lost. Ohh well.

If you’ve never put something off for a later time even though you know it can be done quickly, then that’s pretty amazing. But it doesn’t always work out that way for most people.

I’ll agree with others that it’s not such a huge deal that should mean ostracizing P3, but I think it’s worth calling out as a poor move. Imagine if GI or Binny’s closed one of their BCBS lotteries early - there would be about 4 pages written with people tearing into them.

The correct answer here to this debate is that the Bears should start Mitchell David "Mitch" Trubisky on Sunday, November 29th against the football team from Green Bay, WI.

You should tell that to Congress and all the multinationals who are so shocked when they find out their business partners in the Vietnam are using sweatshop labor

For me, this ranks low on the scale of brewery f up's. How many times have we gotten the, "Wow, we are so humbled and did not anticipate the level of interest..." message after the server crashes after we all knew exactly what was going to happen. First time Phase 3 used OZNR, they probably clicked the wrong time by accident, lottery was open for 40+ hours, and the pieces fell where they did, this isn't a big deal.

I mean, the app is called Oznr. That right there tells you they don't know what they fuck they're doing. But it's also preferable to making your own damned app; leave that to the super-macros so you can get discounted Bud Light Seltzer merch or whatever.

I'm guessing Oznr uses GMT or something and doesn't adapt to local time or some such basic fuckery, and that's why the lottery that took one or two clicks to enter closed early. Oh the humanity!

It is absolutely mind-boggling that popular and/or well established and/or large craft breweries still cannot figure out how to do these releases after years and years of mistakes and failures. The weather forecasters almost have a better accuracy percentage.

It was just a joke about their "honest beer by honest people" or whatever it is

    Honestly...

Yeah, it’s kind of a reminder that these breweries may know how to make good beer but not necessarily the best at running a business.
