4-pks of Cowiche Canyon arrived this weekend, apparently, at Nectar. I stumbled across them on Saturday, and the employee who rang me up got all excited, saying, "When did this come in?"

I presume they've already hit Total Wine. Didn't see it at Community Pint, but it's possible it had already been cleaned out of there either of the times I've been there the last two weeks.

Yeah, it's no mean feat, winning a category in which you're among 350 or so competitors.

I saw the video, and Just want to be sure I understand what I saw. Did all 3 ipa medals go to NW breweries this year, or was this a regional award? That would be pretty incredible, even if I've long thought the best IPA's in the country are made out here.

Terry's post seems to confirm this is indeed the case. Very impressive.

Two nights in a row I've hit Whistle Punk's Fresh Hop IPA. I am officially digging it.

In other fresh hop news, Brick West's FH Pilsner is really damn good. I grabbed one on Wednesday, and plan on going back for more. Hey, @checktherhyme, since you're the only other local frequenting this thread, have you had or heard tell of any FH beers further out than near-downtown?

I have only had a couple this year and all at the event at Hidden Mother. I really liked PSBs and Humble Abodes.

Met a guy from Spokane at Conflux who gave me his card and told me to check out Humble Abode and Whistlepunk in addition to PSB.

Said he would send me some if I didn't have time to stop in on my way back to Milwaukie from Missoula.

Sounds like a wise man. Humble Abode makes great beer. Just difficult for me to get to on the regular.

Perry Street Brewing doesn't open until 2 pm. I'll be getting into Spokane around noon.

Any tap house/pub/restaurant recommendations for lunch?

I haven’t been to Manito Taphouse since it changed ownership but it typically has a great tap list and really good food.

I hope you enjoyed the NOG. Hopefully it was a good batch. When it is on, wow.

Not quite sure of your route. You mentioned baker city destination. If you go through the TC and 395, a slight detour to white bluffs might be worth your time. Usually a food truck. Light snacks. Outside food cool. I am a NOG fanboy, but also enjoy their stouts (really like mighty knight), biere de garde (have no idea how true to the style it is since it’s the only one I’ve had, but very unique and tasty), Kolsch, and alt red. I see they have a barleywine on tap. Would love to try that.

Guy from Spokane I met at Conflux Brewing in Missoula will be sending me samples of Whistlepunk and Humble Abode. Glad I didn't wait until 4 pm for WP to open or I wouldn't have made it to Baker City before close.

Now I don't have to wait until 2 pm for BB's to open before I get on the road back to Milwaukie.

In downtown Spokane beer news, Golden Handle Project's tap room is now open.

Those hours are probably already obsolete, thanks to the cruel vicissitudes of fate, but they are seemingly offering outdoor dining in their tiny amount of space. Last night, they had a sandwich board out advertising "roast beef and beers," but I was on a mission, and that mission was to grab a Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito at Iron Goat (Also, it was 36° by then, and I knew IG had heaters).
EDIT: Turns out they're currently only open Fridays from 4-8. I'll try to check them out next week.
