Drekker Chonk Sundae Sour With Orange Peach & Marshmallow, 7% ABV. Pours thick and hazy orangish yellow, with a ring of white bubbles. Nose is orange, peach, and mostly marshmallow. Flavor follows with moderate sweetness and slight tartness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding to near world-class.

We're having some nice warm November weather here, so we got the outside Christmas decorations up. Also still putting the interior back to normal after having the entire interior painted. Now looking forward to my annual BCBS truck-chasing next Friday, though I expect to buy a bit less this year due to having to cut back consumption of strong beers.

    Whole hog hazelnut brownie
    ...solid black appearance
..light carbonation with an above average body with a bit of creamy slick feel. Overall an excellent body
...aroma is hazelnut, dark and milk chocolate, roasted malt, and some dark fruit.
..taste is a little sweet , mixed chocolate, hazelnut, and dark fruit and coffee.
...overall I have to say this was excellent, a real surprise. Hazelnut can be a funky tasting nut but it was truly delicious in this beer.[IMG]

Got a few Barn Yard brews to try this weekend thanks to @Orca_Whale! Silent Steps is a Nelson, Galaxy and Citra NEIPA which sounded really good, but unfortunately I think this was fermented too warm. Still excited for the other beers since others I’ve had from them have been good.

16 oz can poured into a teku

A- a hazy golden orange with a two finger white head.

S- Citrus, piney, touch of malts sweetness, tropical fruits, slightly dank.

T- Citrus, piney, alcohol/nail polish remover, some melons, some tropical fruits.

M- Medium body, a little harsh.

O- I’m not sure what going on at Barn Town but this is the second NEIPA I have tried from them with this nail polish remover taste. I will say that the hops are a good mix and I feel like it would be more in the 4.25 range if it didn’t have this off flavor.

Pint can dated 6/3/20 poured into a DFH tulip. Dark blackish brown body topped by a medium sized tan head with lots of lacing. Smell is mostly hazelnuts and malt with maybe a bit of chocolate. Taste is much more chocolate forward without losing any of the hazelnut vanilla tinges. Alcohol well hidden. Mouthfeel is full without being overly chewy. Just a nice locally brewed imperial desert stout that I'm glad my beer contact at the local grocery store recommended.

Coal black body sporting a thick and creamy khaki colored head; sheets of foam paint the inside of the glass. Outstanding aroma blend consisting of soft charred grain and dark roast coffee, cocoa, and just the right touch of maple syrup sweetness. Earthy sweetness; cocoa and chocolate fudge; maple syrup; understated booziness with a touch of dry white oak. Heavy body; chewy and oily; velvety; nice alcohol warmth and dryness to counterbalance the residual sugar.

Well, I'm not surprised at the world-class rating of this beer. It deftly blends many diverse components into one rich and complex beer, full of flavor and mouthfeel and exuding a heavenly aroma. This is some masterful brewing and barrel-aging, all done right.
    ------------
Probably a one-and-done beer for me today, so may as well make it a winner. It also makes for a fine sipper while listening to some new Allman Betts Band vinyl. 'Savannah's Dream' is spinning on the turntable now. It reminds me a lot of a cut from Win, Lose or Draw - High Falls - from the old Allman Brothers Band.

Snagged a four pack of this on first sight. Bottled on 11/01/19 so this sucker's already a year old. Poured a 12 ouncer into a DFH tulip. Not much of a head over an inky brown body. Smell just exudes bourbon barrel malts. Taste adds a layer of char, tobacco and leather over the smell. Even though you can't disguise the alcohol burn, it doesn't take your breath away like some Evil Twin high alc smokers do. This is more integrated like a really good J Lees English barleywine, to mix styles. This is a superb sipper with a very full mouthfeel. I'll continue to age the remaining three in my cellar.

Evening all you NBS'ers - Kicking off my weekend with a mystery beer from @WunderLlama.

This mystery beer pours a bright BLUE color - like bright deep blue ... Ive never seen anything like this other than the Vitamin Sea beers you guys have posted. So with that I think its probably from Vitamin Sea. Thin one, one and a half finger head settles in on the beer and shows excellent retention. It is a light blue, as you'd expect from a blue beer ... The aroma has notes of tropical fruit, coconut, bubblegum, sugar, berries ... its quite reminiscent of a tropical cocktail - like some kind of a tiki cocktail mixer or something.

The taste is interesting - its clearly an IPA - I am getting some bitter hops, blue raspberry, and this weird flavor I can't place - floral? sweet, sugary ... Im really having trouble describing it because its so foreign to me. There is a mild bitterness on the finish that lingers to the back fo the palate. Feel is light to medium bodied. Prickly carbonation. Really smooth.

Overall this is unlike anything I've ever had ... I'm really at a loss - its got to become kind of tropical tiki inspired IPA. Outside of that, I have no idea ...

Thank you @WunderLlama! This was really interesting - I enjoyed it!

Good evening ladies and germs, hope everybody is enjoying their night. Thank you SawDog for being an early riser and blasting this thing off. One thing I have learned on BA is it’s never too early (or late) to have a beer. I have the latest version of KBS and it might be the best one of the bunch so far. Just a warning to non chocolate lovers not too try this but I’m sure most peeps here like a bourbon chocolate fudge ball, I know I do! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and Turkey Day is looming near, cheers

Let’s check out this new KBS variation from Founders. Pours dark brown with a little tan head, some lacing. Smells like chocolate and alcohol. The taste is rich, decadent, chocolate cake, bourbon, the maple is present and smooths things out. I was sold on the first sip. This is seriously good dessert in a bottle and two big thumbs up!

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz tulip glass canned on 11/09/2020. Pours a very hazy orange with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves loads of thick patches of lace, with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma ripe melon, guava, marijuana, peach, apricot, and grapefruit rind. 4.25

Taste follows cantaloupe, guava, marijuana, peach, a little smokiness, apricot, and grapefruit. 4.25

Mouthfeel is big, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky not dry, and at 9% ABV it is loaded with flavor but still easy drinking. 4.5

Overall this is really nice, stands out as slightly different with that little shot of smoke, but I won’t have an issue drinking this 4 pack. 4.25 Cheers all

Good day BAs! For the NBS portion of NBW:

Rinkuskiu Drumstas from Cygas & Kalkys. Purchased 10/20/20 for $2.11 (Including tax) for 19.2 oz can ($ 0.110/oz) from Shangy’s in Emmaus, PA. Reviewed 11/22/20.
Can marked on bottom “18.08.2019 L.20886”. On room temperature shelf at store and stored at home at 42 degrees. Served at 50 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 53.2 degrees.
    Appearance – 3.25.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), hazy and translucent. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.3 cm, aggressive center pour), off white, medium density, average retention, diminishing to a two to three mm crown and a partial cap. Second pour produces a short-lived one cm head and lumps of precipitate.
    Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Weak floral hops, no malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 3 – Slightly metallic, slightly bitter hop juice with an average hang time, no malt, no yeast. No alcohol (5.2 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Thin, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3. Not good.
    Rating 3.02, rDev -5%.

Untapped calls this a Euro Pale Lager and BA proclaims it a Farmhouse Ale - Saison. I'd say no matter what you call it, the brewer had a UTI.

    The review:
330mL bottle BBE 12/2020 poured into a tulip glass at fridge temp 10% ABV. The beer pours medium brown in color with chestnut highlights and light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. Minimal lacing. The aroma is malty with notes of brown sugar, orange peel and earthy spice. The taste is semisweet burnt sugar caramel with flavors of orange peel, clove and spice. The finish is mostly dry and moderately bitter. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with prickly, above average carbonation. Overall, very good to excellent. No trace of the 10% ABV. Excellent attenuation and drinkability with a solid flavor profile.

I jumped at the chance to purchase 5 different Chouffe beers and a glass online recently. Glad I did. No disappointments.

Cheers all and enjoy the new beer in your glass today!

Whoops! The "Nefiltruotas" means unfiltered, according to Google Translate. So BA also calls this a Euro Pale Lager. However, sans nefiltruotas, Rinkuskiu Drumstas is a Saison. Go figure.
