Most of the time they don't even check ID and just leave the package.

Yeah their goal is to leave the package no matter what. I was talking to the delivery guy in my area and he said the way it works is if they don’t deliver the package they don’t get credit for it. Failing to deliver a package that’s put in their van affects their performance/ pay so they’re going to make sure you get your package.

The Driver left my case with my neighbor. Great. I didn't even mind the one missing can

Just received my package today and was notified it was delivered via email. Completely stealth delivery. Pretty much the same process as my Amazon deliveries.

Anybody eat at the santa rosa pub recently? Hoping to have lunch there this upcoming Wednesday and wondering if it is hard to get a table. Either way I'm going regardless for at least to-go beer but I would love a draft beer and some of those awesome chicken wings and pizza

Well today is the day I get to open my 10+ old bottle of Pliny. Why you ask? Why not. I’ve had this in my fridge for the last 7 or 8 years now. I need some space. This was to be shared this year with some here on BA. There was a thread for crap/over cellared bottle sharing from last year, but with that Covid thing hanging around it is not possible. So I decided to open and see & taste it myself.

Opening the eldest of Pliny bottle smelled like a sour beer. Not strong, but noticeable. First pour you definitely notice a color difference. To me it reminded me of the one time great Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich. Damn I haven’t seen or heard that here in a long time. At least it looks like an old school west coast ipa. Taste like an old school ipa with high IBU’s. The 8% was definitely noticeable. After drinking half the glass I drain poured so I’d have a final pour from the bottle. And you can see the difference with the murkiness and floaties in the glass. The taste was not good. Very bitter and malty. No sour taste. Had a gulp and drain pourEd the rest.

Interesting write up. The color difference is striking. Did it taste oxidized?

No. I didnt think so. No carbonation obviously. Tasted like a old school dipa that’s over it’s freshness. I think it would be drinkable for a lot of newbies just starting out in the craft world. I still see a lot of people just grabbing whatever off the shelves not checking the date.

Curious, it was refrigerated the entire time? If not, where was it stored the other 2-3+ years?

Yes. The entire trip. My buddy had it the first 3 years. We both purchased same day in HB. 3 bottles each at 3.99ea on corner of Adams/Magnolia. Long gone now. Super Bowl XLVII he brings over 2 Pliny bombers and both were bottled 09/2010. We open one to taste it. Crap. So I hold on to the last bottle till now. So yes bottle refrigerated the entire time.

Liquor Warehouse will always have a special place in my heart. :sob:
It was the place I went to get beer when I turned 21, and exposed me to a lot of good beer in my early days of drinking craft.

Yes. I miss Liquor Warehouse - great variety and good prices. Much better prices than Mr. K's. I like Mr. Keg's, but sometimes they are also overpriced.
Ordered my "fresh" Pliny for President - can't wait. Will it still taste good on election night  ?

The spot that Liquor Warehouse used to occupy is still vacant more than a year later. I hope the rent increase that pushed out LQ was worth it.

To stay on topic, in its final weeks LQ was selling vintage SN Celebration by the bottle and I bought a 1999 and reviewed it in this thread. 20 years old when I opened it.

Wait. Didn't they have a stack of Celebration in the back "behind the curtain" spanning several years?

Yes, just realized I put LQ in my previous post and not LW like I meant. The owner had a good amount of vintage Celebration and sold six packs occasionally. It wasn't until the end that he sold them as singles.

I never aged any. How did they taste? I know a few IPA's I've aged were never great.
