Canned 11/13/20.

Vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch light tan head over a translucent brown body. Head dissipates down to a ring (in 5-10 minutes) which stays put. Nose of maple, dark malt, and a bit of rye whiskey. Taste mirrors nose fairly close with the maple throughout, then meeting up with the rye barrel near the finish. There are nuanced barrel aromas and flavors (oak, vanilla, caramel) coming forward a bit as time goes by. Also, as it warms, the whiskey's heat cannot be denied. Nice feel and overall, a great Imperial Brown and just in time for the holidays!

4 Hands Absence of Light Peanut Butter Smores Stout

 

Not as complementary as expected - honestly, vodka would have been a better pairing...

Willettized has a thick, creamy, full feel, with less emphasis on the drier, sharper rye and wood notes - by comparison, Whistlepig rye is very sharp, lean, and rye-driven - I figured it'd partner better, but neither drink was improved by the other - they just kinda replaced each other at the fore of my palate... No harm done though lol - two quality drinks...

4 Hands Peanut Butter Cup S'mores Absence of Light

 

The last time I drank Guinness I don't even think I had pubic hair yet. I moved to Mickeys, OE, and 211 before finally finding the proper path. I specially remember people chanting he Eminem line "And now that bottle of Guinness is finished, you are now allowed to officially smack bitches". I always wondered what ABV that was.

Moderate pour yields a one inch plus tan head over an opaque brown body with some lacing. Nose of cracker, dark malt, roasted malt, pumpernickel bread, and toast. Taste mirrors nose somewhat with a fairly dry and slightly hoppy finish. Good feel and overall, at 6.0% abv, a highly crushable brown.
