Haha I hope not. But at the same time, I've already arranged a trade that is WAY in the other guys favor for these. But what the hell.

 

Would a 1792 Full Proof Single Barrel store pick pull any of the new Kane ANTEADs? Specifically the coconut cream pie + regular ANTEAD?
Maybe too soon the tell....or maybe my bourbon doesnt have that much trade value (they almost never do!)

Got a BBT4 coming my way soon, either going to drink it or try to trade for a Handjee. Not picky on the vintage. Is that 1:1 or will I be able to get a plus? If so how big a plus? Not a whole lot else I'm ISO these days, maybe BAIGCCS but that seems like a tall ask without something else on my end?

Or am I way off base and going to need a plus just to get a Handjee?

 

BBT trades higher than handjee (with a large + on their side)

 

Agree and You could also easily get BAIGCCS with BBT4

 

If I had an Elmer and was trading it....I’d want handjee or KBBS. KBBS might be a stretch...but so is trading Elmer for a stout

Something like CBC Maman (or Maman or Assassin with a smallish plus). You'd need a real solid plus to trade for stuff like KBBS, Gabe, BBT

 

I have seen you post in the trade value thread a couple times asking for values, then post a trade that is skewed compared to the advice you get. You deleted your initial trade value question, but it still appears because someone quoted it. And since you locked your trade offer I assume you know what you are doing. Most people who post in this forum use the advice they receive. Just curious, why post asking others what they think about values and then do something completely different?

 

I posted after a response that said KBBS or Handjee - I added a Yama 12 to go for SR-71. With the advice to go for it. There is this like cancel culture in beer trading lately w the thread shitting. The latest post re: Maman just came in after I posted in ISO. So I pulled right after. This is getting ridiculous with the constant bombarding on trades. If someone has an SR-71 and they want an ETL + Y12, then why do you care if I get that done or not? It’s mind boggling why people weigh in so negatively on people’s trades. Let it silently die if I’m off.

 

I would say that majority of people that have posted in the Limited forums have taken a shot at a big bottle. Nothing wrong with that (to a certain extent). The question is regarding seeking advice in the trade value thread, then doing something that goes against that. ETL + Yama 12 are nowhere near SR-71, let alone Ann. I would say that feedback regarding values is fair if you seek advice in the trade value thread....that is the point of this forum.

 

The feedback I received in this forum was Handjee or KBBS for ETL. I asked about adding Yama 12 and feedback was go for it. So I did. Then someone came in (after I posted) and said Maman. So what do you want me to say / do? Someone could come in after and say shelf IPAs. Does the Maman guy trump the Handjee guy? I don’t know. But I had already posted - and candidly I bet I’m pretty close. But again - why do you care this much? I follow your posts and like what you write - but what’s your objective with this? If I get that trade done or not - are you the clearing house? Someone said Handjee someone said Maman. So you’re the master of this and I need to pull my Limited post bc someone came in after I posted and said Maman????

 

What’s mind boggling to me is when someone takes any tiny fraction of honest constructive feedback and labels it as “threadshitting” just because it doesn’t agree with his own opinion.

 

No objective. It can be confusing sometimes gauging differing opinions on these bottles. However, the difference between maman - handjee - kbbs - sr71 - Ann is vast. That ranges from 1.25 vru up to 8-9 vru. Ultimately this is a community of people with like minded interests. The advice in this forum can help close a trade. Nothing wrong with shooting your shot. What is the honest constructive feedback? I asked in this thread what the value is of ETL - the first response was Handjee or KBBS ... I asked if I added Yama12 if I could land an SR-71 ... and feedback was go for it. So I posted an ISO for it (and several alternatives if I was off). I did literally what this thread is for. Then after I posted someone said Maman. Who are you guys? This is literally your life. You care about my trade this much?? Seriously?!?

What I was referring to was when I responded to one of your earlier ISO posts when you were offering Yama 12 for various high valued BA stouts. At that time, I gave my feedback that Yama 12 alone was not worth those stouts, and that the Kurayoshi 12 that you were also offering did not aid in your attempts to land one of those BA stouts. Maybe being a simple post, it came across as tone deaf, but there was no malintent there. No mocking meme/gif, no personal attack on you, nothing. You then proceeded to accuse me of "threadshitting" on your post, saying "I was what's wrong w/ the craft beer/whisky trading game," and insulting my knowledge because "I was from Hawaii," just because I gave honest feedback of the valuation of those whiskies that perhaps didn't agree with your valuation.

So here it is. You're right, I don't care about your trade. I do care about the fact that you ask for advice, and the advice you agree with (even when the advice is incorrect), you are pleasant, but if it is advice that you don't agree with, you proclaim that we are devaluing your beer/whisky and that we're "threadshitting." Honest feedback of the value of your whiskies? Yama 12 is not going for any more than 150-200 (and 200 is an absolute stretch, only to someone who is really seeking out good Japanese whisky). ETL is slightly less, 150-175. Kurayoshi, no self-respecting whisky person out there in any group (knowing that it is NOT real japanese whisky) would pay more than MSRP, 90. Handjee, prob 300ish. KBBS, even the most recent yet to be released batch, 500-600. If you don't believe me, go look at various groups/boards on FB, here, and find out the harsh truth for yourself.
