B2 didn’t.

 

I know the 2020 BBT is just trickling out into the wild, so not too many have had a chance to try it. However, I’m curious how it’s stacking up against earlier vintages. Can anyone weigh in on this batch compared to others?

Mine has the security strip on it but it also has a pretty ugly wax job, anyone else get a bottle like that?

Can you post a pic? SP wax jobs are usually pretty spot on.

 

At work currently and my government computer is picky on what it lets me use. Will attempt to post a pic in a few.

 

Let me know if you guys can see the image. Its my first BBT and first waxed SP bottle so no expert here. Every bottle I have ever seen, the wax was pretty pristine and on mine there is a weird booger like situation going on. Not the best picture but will try to get a better one tonight and upload it as well. Messaged SP on Instagram with pictures and a video and have gotten nothing but crickets.

That’s pretty wild... I’ve definitely never seen anything like that come out of SP. I see your location is Virginia so probably don’t have the ability to ask for a quick exchange but I still would send them an email with a picture attached explaining the situation.

 

When thousands of bottles are being waxed inevitably there’s going to be some that aren’t great looking.

That said, that bottle looks pretty bad.

This is pretty much in line with what I was thinking especially since I have zero reason to question my proxy. Dude has a stellar background and lots of positive reviews for offering proxy service so I really want to believe that its just a bad wax job. Will be emailing SP and hopefully they can confirm

 

@TurkeysDrinkBeer it's got the security tag on it so it looks ok. The wax is just clumping around the pull tab probably because it is not affixed securely to the bottle. I have had wax jobs like this from them. They don't discard the bad wax bottles so they make it out in the wild. It happens. I am sure you will feel better if they reassure you about the contents of the beer.

 

This really is where I am at with it. I have complete and total confidence in my proxy so I was more so looking to see if anyone else has seen this or got a bottle like it as well. Can't expect every bottle to be perfect and definitely wouldn't expect them to discard a bottle just because the wax wasn't perfect. I appreciate everyone who chimed in here and will be sure to share whatever information I receive from SP if any.
