My wish list would be Space Diamonds, Broccoli, Forever Simoce. Although DMD, ACE & Mylar all really can be there as well. Really as long as Space Diamonds was one of them the other two could be any of the others mentioned.
I see you got some hate here, I'd def try this just to see ha. I feel its either going to be really good or terrible, the only issue is that it seems their stouts get even sweeter as they warm up, heating it up may really push that over the edge. Didn't someone, years ago, say one of the brewers at the time would take older bottles of stouts and use them in making BBQ sauce or am I crazy?

I mean why not? Roastiness and sugar. Could work as an ingredient in a sweeter BBQ sauce just fine I'd imagine.

As for always available, ACE, HS, and AGE. I'd suggest SD but breweries seem to be having enough trouble getting good Galaxy already. Needing to contract for more probably won't help matters for OH. With those three I mentioned you get a slightly lower ABV, a mid range consistent performer, and a triple. I think that would be fine by me for a half case or to split a case with most people and feel like you've got a good sense of their IPAs. Plus maybe constant brewing would improve consistency?

Me thinks my OH pickup frequency is going take a big hit. Like @Samurai_I_Amuri said, nothing is sacred anymore. I’ll just hope people post when maybe some beers don’t have the melon note and I’ll grab those. Or maybe just stick to the flx ones only? Haven’t had enough of a sample size, but those have seemed to be mostly melon free. I just can’t get into it. If DMD doesn’t taste like DMD anymore, I mean as far as flagships go, that’s always been one of my favorites. But my days of getting excited for new (and old) OH IPAs are done for now. #finbackBA190pages starts today!

I might be full of shit, but my impression is that the melon is a yeasty flavor. I do know all 3 spots have different house yeasts so, if yeast flavor hypothesis is correct, then FLX/DC should be considerably less melon forward.

My favorite semi-regular offering is probably DDH Vapor Ringz. Citra, Galaxy, and Nelson Sauvin with lactose: grape jelly doughnut vibes. The most recent batch was super smooth with very little melon character. As for triples, Enhance Your Mind has consistently impressed me. The recent HDHC version of that beer, Enhanced Mind, was quite good as well. Not sure if either of those count as flagships, but they do seem to pop up every few months.

CRAP, how many Hop Showers points do I lose for totally disregarding that in my prior flagship beer post?! I can't believe i did that

NoBro bike delivery is the best! I'd almost say OH loves their North Brooklyn locals, but I need more of the beers from Centre St. to make it up here.

I'm enjoying a Roo Lab right now and it's so smooth. I don't think I'm getting any prominent earthiness from the Galaxy, just smooth fruit notes with a little soft grassiness on the finish.

    +1.
Mylar is juicy, and lots of melon. It's smooth and a BIG mouthfeel though. It's a little green/dry on the back end, but, it was canned today? I expect that to mellow and this be pure juicy smooth goodness in a week or two.

Only problem is I bought this to drink on Thanksgiving -- guess I'll have to buy more elsewhere now.

But if you're wrong, we'll know that Other Half is engaging in an incestuous mélon à trois.:grimacing:

I dunno, my "too early review" is that it's kind of underwhelming with a cloying amount of hoppiness and, like @patmcd said, green and dry. It's a muddled mess of hops, that no doubt will meld into a tasty juicy note, but isn't pleasant right now. To the back of the fridge!

Speaking of incestuous mélon à trois, let me tell you about the time I was at the Newberry Watermelon Festival down in Florida...

Happy Thanksgiving! Tomorrow we have some very special releases from @otherhalfdc. Order through Curbside Pickup (link in bio) to pick up tomorrow when we open at noon. And #staytunedfor some special beer coming down from @otherhalf.flx later this weekend. ⠀
    ⠀
Ball or Sword Imperial Stout (14.3%) with Mostra Coffee Roasters Philippine Sitio Belis and Coconut with our pals @jwakefieldbrewing We worked with the incredible folks @mostracoffee to choose a coffee for this stout. We landed on one unique to Mostra, Sitio Belis, that has a creamy, smooth body and notes of milk chocolate, honeysuckle, and cinnamon. Complex and powerful enough to play nicely with the macaroon cut coconut we use, also from the Philippines. We've been excited to finally plan a new stout with our long time friends at J. Wakefield along with the Mostra crew. Cheers! $16 per bottle. ⠀

Choose One Imperial Stout (14.3%) with Mostra Coffee Roasters Panama Finca Lerida Geisha, Black Sesame Paste, and Vanilla with our pals @jwakefieldbrewing Finca Lerida is a special coffee with notes of jasmine flowers, pipe tobacco, walnuts, caramel and ripe peach. Our friends at Mostra helped source this coffee and roast it to compliment the flavor profile of this stout. We also used a black sesame paste that gives a character similar to peanut butter, but much richer. And last we added a blend of Tahitian and Madagascar vanillas to create a more complex flavor profile. It's always exciting to work on a new stout with our pals at J. Wakefield and Mostra. $16 per bottle.

Anyone try Possum Hugs? I loved DeGarde back in the day when I was into trading. Early reviews seem great but might just be fan boys.

I’m afraid you don’t. Gonna have to roll those dice knowing it could be a win/win for me. And sorry for being lazy and responding to your DM at the same time - yeah happy to meet wherever/whenever as long as it’s under a 30 min drive.

I only pay equal or less to the most expensive OH IPA can. $10 is out of my price range.

DHDHC Mylar not $24 amazing. Tastes like a run of the mill OH DIPA. Oh well.

FTFY. Add “melon” somewhere and it could apply to @algebeeric_topology or @afroskully, depending on context.

I was going to suggest an online tasting to help #project191 but I checked the curbside and realized the overlap between locations isn't great. Plus, the cost...
