Some point. I have actually been surprised when some beers are brewed in a totally different part of the world than expected. You have to read the fine print here! On the other hand, who's to prove the process and innovation don't cost some?

Guess where this is brewed: Do-Ri-N-Ku ドリンク

I don't know. This seems like a frivolous lawsuit.

From what I can tell, Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma (a subsidiary of Heineken) still produces the beer in Mexico.

Destined to go nowhere I’d guess, if you like the beer so what, they own the rights they can do what they want.

When the Mexican government initially declared that breweries in that country were "non-essential" (unlike in the US), Heineken decided to brew Tecate in Holland for the US market.

Of course, Heineken's been doing that for a number of their international brands long before Covid-19.

Ya mean, just like every other beer sold in the US following the TTB labeling rules? Hey, wait a minute - I was just reading this label - this beer isn't brewed in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic at all despite the name! Ah, damn - and my lawyer's office is closed on Saturdays!

Wait a minute - A buck a can!? WTF? How many multimillionaires are there in the world that a brewery can survive selling such a high priced product? And brewed in Holland, home of cheap beer like the below, instead of Mexico?

    Well, now I know.

But is Tecate brewed at all in Mexico, say for other markets? Isn't there still a Tecate Brewery in Baja California (perhaps still in Tecate)?

Ambulance chaser? Hope they start fining people who make frivolous claims...or at the very least give him a surcharge for the additional freight from Europe.

I would think being brewed in Holland would be an improvement.

Well, yeah - but as the linked story explained, the Mexican government temporarily closed their domestic breweries, calling them "non-essential" during the early months of Covid-19. Heineken decided to brew their flagship Mexican brands (Tecate and Dos Equis (below), maybe others?) [IMG]
in a brewery in Holland to keep the US domestic market supplied - which their primary rival for Mexican imports in the US, Constellation (Corona and Modelo), did not have the ability or brewing capacity outside of Mexico to do. According to some reports this spring,Constellation kept their Mexican breweries open, against the Mexican government's declaration.
Constellation Brands to reduce brewery operations in Mexico after government deems it non-essential

+6 months later, no idea what the current situation is re: the Mexican breweries but I'd imagine that Heineken would rather export the Mexican-brewed beer to the US for financial and other reasons.

What, me worry? All of this will take a while to shake out, but being where we were once is not ever likely. Meanwhile I find humor everywhere and just plain live for it. What else is there in this jaded ass crazy modern world? The Onion.....

Even before Covid the brewery in Tecate was having problems with the state of Baja and the Mexican government over water usage and wastewater affluent. CB has been trying for years to ramp up production there without properly addressing where the water to make the beer was going to come from.
