    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

    Rosé colored body, rather cloudy but not opaque; lively carbonation; thick and velvety head. Clean, strong scent of raspberries; cherry cola. Muted taste; the raspberry is dialed down low and the kölsch base is well-hidden. Medium body; soft and velvety; light acidic touch but more watery than juicy.

    My sample was given to me a few months ago and the beer was canned August 17th, 2020. I've lost a lot of my liking for fruit beers, and based on the smell, expected the taste of this one to be a bit over-the-top. Instead, I found a fine looking beer with a pleasing smell, but the taste and mouthfeel were pretty dull and lifeless. Not bad, I suppose, and at least it didn't go crazy with intense raspberry flavors, but perhaps it could have been amped up a wee bit more to give the beer more oomph and distinction.

    Bottled 06/July/20. Of the two alcohol/bottle differences this year, 14.6% abv. Poured at 48° from a mini fridge after warming up for 1/2 hour on the counter (I have let it sit for another 15-20 minutes in my glass as I sip, and it is devine)...anyhoo, I’m loving this beer...as it warms, the chocolate becomes more pronounced and I think it’s the best version for the last few years...

    Dollar Slice with Extra Cheddar from Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn, NY. The name brings me back to 1970s Manhattan, when as a kid, we would go out and get "a slice and a Coke" on the Upper East Side for $1.00. Those were the days, my friend (mo chairde).

    I must have been so busy taking plaudits from my wife for not having my first beer until 4:10PM that I missed what happened to Lamar Jackson, as Robert Griffin III is now QB’ing the Ravens.

    Yesterday I mentioned that the brewer of my go to Imperial Stout had gotten into barrel aging and posted about two of those four new beers. Well, number three from Wellington Brewery in Guelph Ontario is called UVB-76 Daniil and it’s 11.9%, aged in Bourbon barrels and brewed with apple and cinnamon. They got the cinnamon right, unlike a Collective Arts Origin Of Darkness collab with Civil Society where the cinnamon was over the top. It’s the first time I’ve had something less than positive to say about Collective Arts. Anyway, these three Imperial Stouts from Wellington are of the highest quality. I will try the fourth next.
