LMAO, we had an attorney in our firm retire - after about 1 month he started coming in the office 3 days a week. He'd read the paper, have coffee, do a little work and then leave mid afternoon ... It turned out his wife told him to go to the office 3 days a week because she was sick of him always being around. :joy:

Wish I could say I was retired at my age (late 50's), but will probably have to work until the day I die. Right now working for a property management company. Previously worked for 16 years at one of the swanky Las Vegas strip hotels, and before that co-owned and operated 5 video rental stores (remember those?).

I was on a long Alaska climb, on our intros, we found out we had an MD on the team. And then he told us “ actually I’m an Oncologist specialist on livers “
Thankfully we didn’t need any Med help on the trip. He was a great climber!
    Cheers

My wife is a solo practice psychiatrist and I am the office work. So kind of a mom and pop thing going on. (28 years)

For the most part, we keep to our own areas, so 24/7 with the spouse is not as terrifying as it might sound. As long as the work is done, I can spend as much time on BA as I want.

Both turned 63 this year, so light at the end of the tunnel.

The last time this was asked, I "delivered sandwiches."

If you'd asked me a couple years later, I would have said: "I deliver sandwiches, but I plan on retiring in two years." In fact, as recently as two years ago, I was still planning on retiring (at 40, and probably never working again; that tends to infuriate my elders, but ... sorry?). I have since, however, passed that milestone and kept on going.

I have recently (as in, within the last 4 months) decided to continue delivering sandwiches for the next 10 years or so - and then definitely never working again - certainly not in any official career.

Lot of risk lot of reward. You can't half ass it. Beer helps, just don't over do it.

That's cool. My wife took time off when my 16 year old daughter was born. See if you can guess where this is going.

I’m a “semi-retired” stay-at-home dad now - formerly I was a software guy that designed and implemented a lot of underlying technology that allowed for online transaction processing and the cloud.
