My son recently graduated from Hofstra Law School took the Bar exam which was a shit show with covid. Now hes waiting another 2 months for results. He and his girlfriend also a lawyer do a podcast- Disorder innthe Court- pretty interesting if you want to check it out- Spotify

 

Well I cant list everything Ive done. Since I left college Ive done many things starting with carpentry and concrete work/form building. After the fam bought an Inn I got into the restaurant business and have been doing that 40 years. F and B Manager, cook, prep, dishwasher, then Chef, Exec Chef, almost everything in the kitchen. When I had kids I went into Foodservice sales as a Marketing associate for Sysco, Agar, PFG etc. Now Im back in the kitchen as a Chef (recently out of work due to covid). I am also a musician/writer.
Im an artist at heart because I love to create dishes and music. Thats my jam.

 

Nuclear Mechanical Systems Inspector for the government. I get to climb around on submarines and carriers. I'll hit my 10 yr mark in January

 

I am a direct support provider in a care facility for individuals with mental illness. Prior to that, I was a church outreach director and youth catechist. Prior to that, I was a student in the Christian outreach program at Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. Prior to that, I was a Banyan Vines network administrator in a chemical research facility. Prior to that, I was a microcomputer technician in a manufacturing facility. Prior to that, I was an accounting clerk. Prior to that, I was a statistician in a state government agency. That was my first gig out of college (math major, tOSU). I've been in my current job for over 14 years, longest of any job I've had. Now I'm on the downhill run to retirement. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

 

Work is so much more palatable when you know "I don't have to be doing this right now. I can just...stop...if I want to."

 

I manage a book of business for an HR technology company. More specifically, benefits administration.

This thread pops up every now and then, and, reliably, it is one of the only ones I read all the way through. So interesting to see what (and how different) everyone's professions are. Yet here we're all brought together by our love of booze.

 

Former college prof (psych & neuroscience) here. Jumped off the tenure track and held various design/content/digital strategy roles in the Ed Tech space. Currently a Learning & Development manager at a logistics company and it is easily the most interesting and rewarding job I’ve had.

 

Yeah my Son stays pretty cool but he was more stressed out than ever. Than when they took the Bar they had to do virtual and couldn't leave their seat or the front of the computer for the duration. Whaaaatt???

 

Public high school math teacher with a special education certification, going strong in my 12th year.
