i have received a couple of tete v18 bottles with imperfect wax. IMO they normally would have held back these bottles for on-site consumption but since that's not likely to happen any time soon they're just selling them.

I feel like the security tab should relieve any concerns about the wax job. Yeah it might not be the prettiest, but if it's the SP holo'd security tab and it looks like it's sitting fine and untampered with, there is nothing to be concerned with. Also when they are waxing probably 4000 plus bottles by hand, I imagine they get in a rush and aren't trying to be perfectionists with every bottle. I imagine this is why they added the security tabs honestly, after people questioning every wax job thanks to Raji

You're good dude. I've seen similar wax jobs from SP before. As mentioned above, shit happens when doing 2k of these over a couple of days.

My best guess is a single barrel bottling of Oude Fermier that was “too special to blend”.

Which is weird considering that’s kind of what Oude Fermier was supposed to be.....

True, although Oude Fermier b1 is the only one that was actually single barrel (b2 was 2 barrels).

And based off the description Oude 3 doesn’t really fit that trend either. Although we don’t know how many barrels were used so I suppose it still could

Also since it’s vintage 2019, it’s a younger thread (probably 16-18 months in barrels taking conditioning into account) than some of the older barrels for OF3, which we’re probably pushing 30+ months in oak. Flavor profile is probably less oak and more stone fruit, which SP cultures are great at achieving. This is all pure speculation of course.
