So Many Cool Dudes with Killer jobs on here. For the past 13yrs I've been a humble bag carrying Salesman within the FI industry peddling a CCM SaaS based solution. It's taken me (mostly) all over this beautiful country and allowed me to enjoy many a fine brewery and/or gastropub. Here's to COVID slowing down so I can speed back up and get out on the road to visit an FI and more importantly brewery near you!

Project Implementation & Management for a software company that works with supermarket retailers. Before Covid the job involved a fair amount of travel, which has helped my beer ticking immensely.

Land surveyor (project surveyor in the office) for a civil engineering firm . I haven't surveyed in the field more than a handful of times the past couple years but went from college to field to office. I'm currently on the path towards my RPLS license (Registered Professional Land Surveyor, similar to a PE).

The only time I've been sent outside this year was for a nasty topographic survey on the Red River that required a second man just to get it done in a timely manor for a bridge replacement. Unfortunately for me, all the callouses on my hands were long gone and wielding a machete in the Cross Timbers when your hands have been on a keyboard for almost a full year is not fun but it's still always nice to get out and about. I don't think we saw another person in the 4 days we were at that site.

Farmer and aircraft mechanic. Well, a farmer till the end of the year then the farm is sold to the corporates. Just did not make sense for the family to keep it since it's income was outpaced by our mother's care who is in the memory unit. Done at 3 generations and I feel a bit nostalgic . I have been an aircraft mechanic for 30 years. Worked on just about everything and just about everywhere. Never did the airline circuit besides doing contract work.

5.5 years of that was enough for me, went back to research. Definitely not dull as you said, I just got tired of too many corners being cut by people who knew better. Hopefully you've got the financial support to do things right.
