The pandemic has been one huge tragic factor in the human cost to our industry and membership.

We’ve been mostly lucky personnel-wise, with only one death from Covid. We’re starting to see a spike in potential and actual exposures, so we’re in process of reverting to remote work.

Having some nice beer and chatting up the BA community is a nice treat from the fun the earlier part of the day brings. One has to remember that fun is an acronym...I generally use “f’ing utter nonsense.”

Yeah, color me jealous of the at or near retirement BA’s. I’m in no hurry to get too old or start to mold, but this working every day for the man is getting old.

Yes, that all rhymes...not really purposely, but if you like it, hey, look at my poetry skills!

My senior-year Calc teacher changed the course of my life. I walked in right after the bell and instead of letting me grab the one empty desk in the back, he said "uh uh" and pointed to one in the second row. A girl came in after me and he told her to take the desk in front of me. That girl and I have been married for 20 yrs. Oh, and he was also one of the best teachers I've ever had and the only one I ever went back to see after graduating.

This is crazy. Based on some of your responses, I'm reasonably sure I have been on the same conference calls as some of you. Maybe @Ocalafox , I know we provide components for your program...

I am currently a Senior Quality Engineer for one of the biggest military/aerospace/commercial connector houses in the world. AS9100 certified if anyone ever wants to talk shop, which I doubt. We're here to talk about beer :stuck_out_tongue:

My wife works with 5 long term units, and it’s been a wildfire the last two weeks. There’s no real help here without a vaccine. She’s living proof that PPE works, but that can be undone by a trip to the food store as noted by how many staff are infected. Mostly young who are living their life out of the facilities. Certainly this is how the bug gets to the patients, they’re completely isolated.

Went to Grad school years ago for Health Care Management and discovered it wasn't my gig and switched careers to Medical Device Sales, then Retina Surgery, then Capital Equipment for Ophthalmology, and now? It was a good (29+) year run, got totally fed up with the egos and left Healthcare altogether. And now? Switched industries and now work for the Industrial side of Snap-on Tools. Why? After being called a "tool" in the past ....:smile: (And no, I don't drive one of those big white "ice cream trucks", that's a different division of the company.) Being a long time woodworker and lover of cars the hands on aspect of this job is pretty awesome and I learn new things every day from my customers. In the course of a day I could go from railroad to airport to energy to truck garage to trade school to brewery () to musical instrument manufacturing (:heart_eyes:). The variety of work environments is challenging and invigorating all at the same time.

You have to be a corporation for me to care about this question. Also, ask @scream

Best people. When I was doing American Legion Burial details in Oklahoma. Those folks are the ones that tied everything together. They were the ones that ensured the Vets had a goos sendoff

I worked on the RAM launcher for the Navy. We didn't have 5" floppies...I feel like some arcane test equipment we used required 3.5" floppies but I can't specifically remember, and we definitely used dot matrix printers. This was early 2000s, though.
