My sister-in-law worked for an AB distributor years ago and would throw me some swag from time to time. I found the Black & Tan cap in the back of my closet. I have no recollection of drinking a black and tan from AB. Is there any recollection amongst BAs about this beer?
It was part of a mid-90s AB series called "American Originals" which revived a few pre-Pro era AB beers. Mitch Steele (former AB, Stone brewmaster now at New Realm) had some great info on the series on a blog he used to have, unfortunately last I looked, it was no longer up. The Black & Tan "The American Porter" originally dated from the turn of the century. Other beers in the series included Faust, American Hop Ale and Muenchener.
