not the most glorious picture. Or beer for that matter to be honest. This is a big one right here I honestly think this borders somewhere between a Steel Reserve and a Strong Golden.

I wanted to post a second pic because of the importance of even a DECENT pour can have for a beer.

as you see my first pic was a pretty sad head. The remainder of the can I let glug and nucleate more. Not only does it look better, it allowed me to see lacing left on the glass and I shit you not the beer is more easy going.
    Cheers.

Michael (@TongoRad) is especially fond of this year's version.

    Cheers!

I didn’t have last year’s version so I can’t speak to that, though I trust Tongo.

To me, this is close to perfection for a chilly, afternoon sipper. Full body and flavor. The smoke isn’t overpowering, rather sublime. There is plenty of chocolate and nuttiness. The lacing it’s leaving behind is even better.

I also saw Morro Castle in 16oz four packs and thought if you. Didn’t pull the plug though for $15

    Nice!

I miss having regular access to that one! Good to know it's still around. I'd take the Trosten over it though, fwiw.

forgotten boardwalk Flying Fortress. 5.5% ABV.
Cherry Hill NJ. 5 minutes from my house and grateful.
This is a cream ale dry hopped with crystal. I knew I’d love this. Crispy. Super clean. Vineous herbal. Finish so clean it’s insane. They also seem to have a distinct tropical “mango, passion fruit, guava” aspect to every ipa they do. Similar to how Lagunitas has a specific hop profile to everything. Maybe it’s just the crystal dry hop. Maybe I’m a little drunk already. :relieved:

    from the can:

NJ AIRMAN SURVIVES 22,000 FOOT FALL
during WWII mission a Flying Fortress plane was shot by AA guns and became a ball of flames. Alan Magee born in Plainfield NJ climbed into the fuselage to get his chute to discover it was shredded by flak. He fell out of the burning B-17 without the parachute 22,000 feet and LIVED. His story is considered one of the 10 most amazing survival stories by the smithsonian

    ....

forgotten boardwalk means a lot to me growing up in cliffwood beach NJ because my hometown used to be a boardwalk but was destroyed in the 60s by a hurricane. You can still find the Olympic pool in the woods along the sea wall. I have. Anyways. They love the wonder stories and “creepy” history of NJ similar to circus feats, Ripleys and weird NJ stuff the vibe is weird and awesome and I love them and am very into the stories of the things like the radioactive bay outside red bank and wireless communication in the 1800s connected to the twin lights in sandy hook. Bio Shock esque for those who know.

I’ve been published on an article about one of their beers before and I truly love what they are creating. I hope they expand.

    cheers.

Used to be $10 six packs. Seems to be taking advantage of this now seasonal 16oz 4pk craze??

I used to work over nights at Home Depot. Takes a special kind of person. Have fun though. Has its perks.

I’ve been a busy boy today, and the honey-do’s are still coming...beer break - my home brew, “EvilDave’s Karma Citra”, session IPA:

Bottled 8/20/20. The hops have faded some, but still poundable at 3.56%...too bad this was my last bottle. Maybe Santa will bring me some brewing ingredients this year...Cheers!

Tree House Perfect Storm. Seems fitting for my day.
I spent over 3 hours parked on highway starting at 5am this morning as we received freezing rain overnight that was unexpected by all which left the roads completely untreated. I could barely stay on the road at 20 mph. Accidents everywhere, highway closed in both directions.
