Regular Snowbirds 5 is drinking as good as any batch ever has.

same with SB5 Banana Cream Pie. Smooth. It’s sweet, but, I think the adjuncts are just enough and doesn’t overpower. Reviews on Untapped complained about not enough Banana. Think they found a good balance.

I also longed for more banana (story of my life?) but it was fun to drink a beer that tasted so much like vanilla wafers.

My only gripe with these beers (aside from the obvious sweetness) is the lack of carbonation. Trying a BA bottle tonight, can anyone recommend one?

I want to take a quick moment to praise the folks working the OH BK location today. Sleep deprived me, the father of a now 10 day old, went for a walk to get a lowly 4pk of Dusted. In a rare move I didn't order this ahead of time. When I arrived they told me there was no stock left at the bar and they would need to get it from the warehouse. I thought nothing of this and said it's no issue if they are okay with it but after waiting for quite some time I realized they needed to get the forklift in order to procure the Dusted. I didn't want it that badly. Anyway long story short the folks there offered to help me find something comparable (truth be told, I know everything they have by label but was far too out of it to read the menu) in the name of AlGaE. Right as I picked a replacement so I didn't have to wait the forklift arrived with hundreds of cans from which someone plucked a single four pack of Dusted. I don't know if they could sense my lack of sleep or if they were just having a good ol' Sunday afternoon but without naming specifics they made it right and I went home feeling like OH hates locals maybe took a one day break.

Congrats , the sleep should get better! We've started to get uninterrupted (aside from how noisly babies sleep) 5-6 hour stretches. Did you check out Taking Cara Babies for general pointers and helpful info?

    FWIW I'm underwhelmed by Dusted.

Haha! It was something I enjoyed enough previously to try again. Drinking now and it is smooth and mild - not good not bad - but the best I've had in 10 days for sure

All these newborns making me unexpectedly feel old (my kid just turned 9, and it's the most fun age yet but they're all special in a different way). Enjoy your beers liberally new parents! Once the kid starts making jokes about your beer fetish you'll have to decide if you want to be "strategic" about consumption or own it like a boss... there's no wrong way as long as they're convinced you still love them more

Congrats @BLazarus22 ! - your post had that telltale tone of someone who's either taken a boatload of MDMA or just had a baby. I can picture you telling this while either gurning heavily or rocking a newborn - both fit.

Cos I'm an idiot. Cos it's snowing. Cos I'm mildly hungover. Cos a bunch of you have rationalized your own purchasing mistakes by claiming they are not unbearably sweet. And cos I live IN THE SUBURBS - I bought the snowbirds 4 pack for shipping and the self-loathing has already kicked in.

This has been my issue with recent OH stouts that went over the too sweet line for me. The lack of carbonation really gives it this syrupy/cola sweetness which I am sure some people are into but gets to be too much for me. How are the SB5s on the carb/sweetness? I didn't get to make it to OH this weekend so if they are available this coming weekend I will prob grab while I make my rounds

As someone who only checks into this thread intermittently and enjoys OH intermittently: Can I take a moment to vent about how inconvenient some of their naming conventions are, particularly the Snowbirds series? Am I the only one confused by the fact that there are various Snowbirds released yearly, and that the names have no connection whatsoever to the different variants other than "BA?"

That's all. Thanks for your time, everyone. Please go back to talking about how you're "on line" when you're standing in lines (could this be related to the shitty naming conventions? I have to assume so).

@William_Navidson is right to call this out and I didn't care much until I had to order the Snowbirds bottles in advance and was left panicking (like many others who have noted here) "fuck which bottles did I want to get these names all look the same!".

I find this shocking - Other Half are generally peerless when it comes to very tight, thoughtful, forward-thinking naming conventions.

I was thinking the same thing last night. I had to check the BA Snowbirds 3 I bought last year to tell the difference between it and this years BA Snowbirds 3 because the labels are almost identical. Also what happened BA Snowbirds 2?
