More Brewing (2020)

I know it's a bit late, but I finally tried Double Strawberry Marbles, and I have to agree with some others here: It's the best milkshake IPA I've ever tasted. I don't really love milkshakes that much in general, but I thought this one was great.

Also, I thought Arketype French Toast is pretty decent. I didn't like it as much as Coco Flux, but it wasn't as sweet as I feared it would be. The maple is fairly muted, it's really the cinnamon that stands out the most.

 

Who's joining the barrel membership on Oznr??

 

Seems like they cleared out the cellar of the old/Shaun brewed stuff without much hype (almost like they just wanted to get rid of it), and now they are promoting the memberships starting next year with potentially all new beers and recipes.

 

I would be curious to see if more breweries follow the leader on this one. We now have several in the area, I don’t know if Maplewood, Mikerphone or Rev will do one in the future. I do like the membership idea but realistically it’s a lot for one person to manage the cost of several of these at 300 plus a piece. I already have Phase 3 and Barclay so I am tapped out. Had to pass on whiskey hill and now this. Turning into the season ticket concept where you need to have partners splitting the cost to be able to afford all of these. Or just trade bottles from your membership for other membership bottles.

 

I’m not talking at all about More here, but I think you’re going to see plenty of places take the interest free loan of doing a membership for 2021. In which case, pick places you’re confident will survive 2021.

 

100% agreed. With most of these breweries fighting to survive a winter with no indoor dining, it is a nice way to get a quick 75-100K to help stay afloat

 

How does the P3 membership work? Can’t find anything about it online.

 

For 2020 it was ~$300 and included 2 bottles of each Eunoia, 1 member only Curvature (b5), and you could buy the other Curvatures / Mintuiae in a pre-sale (1pp, couldn't also do the public sale). Some other pre-sale / merch discount perks too.

Details haven't come out about 2021 yet so no clue if it'll look the same or what

I also entered the More membership lotto, and I already feel regret.

 

Easy pass. Straight Jacket alone is light years ahead of anything BA from More.

 

Sorry, not I. I have a buddy who lives in STL who would be my proxy if I somehow win. Which I won't. So it won't matter.

 

Anyone have a sense of what the demand is like for this? With the lotteries, many of us have been going after everything on OZNR. But of course, $300 is a bit different. I couldn’t really get a sense from social media how competitive this going to be.

 

Do you only want it if other people do or are you interested in what MORE might churn out on the BA front and live in close enough proximity to feel it your obligation to enter?

 

None of the above. I live 30 from Huntley and nearly 40 from Villa. I’m genuinely curious about the increasing number of these memberships and how many the local craft community can support. But it’s definitely a trend locally and nationally (Russian River just started one).

 

If there are only 250 available, and people are still willing to shell out $80-125 secondary value for More's BA stouts, I'm guessing the forking shirtlords alone are going to make this pretty competitive.

I signed up expecting that I probably wouldn't win. Just watch, the one lottery I'm not 100% sure I want to win is the one lottery I will actually win. That's just how 2020 likes to roll, man.

 

We'll let me know if you want to "split your season tix." I signed up and would live to not have the stress and get these bottles. I did not win any of the recent Rada or whatever lottos, and I'm close and willing to pick up.
