This topic actually comes up quite a bit. I don't have any friends, but I like to finish bottles... so it works out well. Don't put the bottle cap back on. As some have said, just buy a plain wine stopper. Do not buy a stopper that's a pump for taking the air out. In my experience, something like the below is best. You can get a novelty one for any perversion too.

I’ll use a rubber stopper if I have to, but honestly I’ve just stopped buying beers packaged like that. I hate the 22 oz format, and really don’t care for the 16 oz either, but if that’s the only way I can get it...so be it.

Very rarely do I finish them in a single sitting anymore.....back in the day, though....

Anyway, I gently pry the cap off, so as not to bend it, and recap it. Also, I've got a ton of bottle caps from when I bottled my homebrew - you can use those, too.

I finish the beer the next evening, so, typically 24 hours has elapsed. No flavor degradation. Maybe some very slightly reduced carbonation. But these are almost always stouts we're talking about.

I use one of these guys (Vacu Vin). Actually does a little vacuum action to minimize oxidation. Minimal carbonation loss which with these bigger bottle, bigger stouts isn't much of an issue anyway.
