Mrs. Insomniac has been on me to take a day off, so yesterday that’s what I did. Back at it like a champ today. Fraoch Heather Ale, the last of my Williams Bros. Brewing Co. Gruits. 5% and very nice. A couple of days ago I promised a Canadian song with each beer and I try to keep my word. Strange Advance was a great synth pop band. Sadly, they only released three albums. Cheers.

I believe this is the last Sour in the house, so it must be winter. Collective Arts Jam Up The Mash. 5.2% and made with Vic Secret, Citra and Mosaic hops. Very nice.

Blue Rodeo are like Gods in Canada. Jim Cuddy, the singer here (they have another lead singer), has been described as having one of purest voices in music. No studio enhancement, either, as he sounds the same live. I last them about a year ago and his voice hasn’t changed in thirty years. Cheers.

Finally bought my sixth 4-pack of KBS. 6 of these left lets see how long thing case lasts. This will be the first season I drink an entire cases and I'm 16 bottles deep into Mackinac fudge so I need to find (trade) two more four packs.... and I'll have done a case of each.

Oddly I didn't try this years Espresso variant but I thought it was very good.

    Fudge > Espresso> CBS > KBS

Depending on the freshness and how the beer is stored Espresso and CBS might swap places

Starting my day with some Zombie Dust from 3Floyds, canned 11/06/20. It's been a few years and this is probably the freshest I've had it, and the first time in cans. Beautiful citrusy tropical Citra hop aromas are boasting, mango, peach, pineapple, papaya, orange citrus, some grapefruit marmalade, lime pith, caramelized malt, and some floral earthy dankness. Taste is a good balance of malt and hops, with some lychee and piney resinous spice added. Real nice pale ale. Cheers all!

Outstandingly clear and bright golden yellow body; very nice carbonation; somewhat thin yet rocky and creamy head, white and sticking in patches inside the glass. Classic pilsner malt aroma; pale malt with a slight cereal grain hint; softly floral. Beautiful, clean taste; very light cracker and biscuit; moderate hop bitterness; a smidgen of herbal notes. Light body; crisp; very gentle and delicate sweetness to the body; dry mouthfeel overall, especially midway and long into the finish.

This is one fantastic pilsner. It firmly meets the clean and crisp character one would look for in a good Czech-style pilsner.

Drinking old Hailstorm Vlad The Second from 2018 in the basement while building shelving racks. The beer held up well with a chocolatey marshmallow nougat taste.

Spencer Trappist Ale in the glass...spinning some Curtis Fuller. He is 85 years old today, and still playing. Got a chance to meet and play with him at a festival when I was in high school over twenty years ago now. One of the coolest guys and experiences ever.

This is a compilation of two different bands he had in the late 50's. Everyone from Lee Morgan, Wynton Kelly, McCoy Tyner, and Jimmy Garison and of coarse Benny Golson were in these bands.
