Way early for this nube to crack a beer but 2 hours of shoveling last night, 3 hrs of shoveling this AM along with two of the neighbor's driveways. Still have work to do (the job that pays the bills)... hey, it's 5:00 somewhere and I'm thirsty!!!

Good day BAs! I'm off to a late start today because I had to take Mrs. Lizard over the river and through the woods for an 0820 Dr. appointment. I used the snowblower last night to take the first four inches off the driveway, so when we left, there was only another four inches, not counting the foot or so where the plow filled the driveway. Anyway, easy drive with relatively clean roads. @Shanex, keep up with posting the French songs - even if our knowledge of the language is limited to non-existent, we can enjoy the difference. Anybody wants Murican, check out most of the other posts.

No problem! Of course whatever music is in my ear right when I am drinking a beer will be posted here. I enjoy a wide variety of styles and tunes so more to come, French, English or whatever tickles my fancy. Cheers!

By the way, crazy snow up in New England and New York but was expected for a couple days. Drive safely. Work from home or whatever your options are, all.

Perennial Artisan Ales -- Coffee Abraxas (2020) (stout - American imperial)

    4.54/5 rDev +0.9%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.5

Opaque black body topped with a nice thick, creamy, light brown head. Milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and a faint wisp of coffee comprise the smell. Coffee, cinnamon, and a bit of chili pepper kick, all wrapped up in a moderately sweet dark chocolate body greet the taste buds. Rich and heavy body; dense and velvety; sludgy; huge residual sugar presence; minor bit of chili pepper heat nicely offsets things.

This is an incredibly rich and flavorful imperial stout. The taste really brings together all the adjuncts and in a nicely balanced and complex manner.

...going to be a weird day...Mrs. BG and I are hosting a young neighbor couple for supper tonight. I'm making pork steaks and green chili for supper plus baking an apple pie...Mrs. BG would normally handle most of the cleaning, but when walking our 92-year old neighbor, she had a black out, so now she's with the neighbor at the hospital while I don my male-oriented house cleaning personae on top of things...thought more coffee and an early beer may smooth things for me...besides, I can listen to my six-CD Ornette Coleman set without worry (it would drive Mrs. BG crazy with 'chaotic' free jazz blaring through the house)...

Hello everyone again! This is my after-work beer today.

Shepherd Neame & Co. (ENG) - DOUBLE STOUT (5,2%)

Classic English Double Stout. Creamy and abundant foam, light body, minimal carbonation. Prevailing hints of licorice and bitter cocoa, then coffee. the roasted malt scent emerges on the finish. Dry finish.

I'm having a Copper Legend from Jack's Abby. It's an Octoberfest/Marzen. Clear copper color with a fluffy white head that has good retention and very nice lacing. Aromas & flavors of bread and grain with herbal notes as well. It tastes like what I'm looking for when I have this style.
