Mikerphone Brewing (2020)

I had not purchased a Mikerphone stout in a long time, nor had I tried one on draft for various reasons. Popped a S'More Cowbell just now and oh my goodness, this is barely drinkable. So sweet that it may as well be syrup. I am against dumping beers so this will be a chore to get through, may take half a day of work

I’ve all but given up on their stouts. Their IPA’s are decent though.

BA Vanillanoize, along with a BA white blondie stout collab with Beer on the Wall.

I got 2 Vanillanoize, because that beer is great, but I passed on the blonde stout. I've only had one white stout that I liked in my entire life (the Bottle Logic pineapple one). My guess is this one is going to be a little too sweet.

 

Definately on the sweeter side but not crazy, reminds me of Bruery's white chocolate

 

Maybe I should have gotten one then..... oh well.

 

Picked up the Czech pils and gangsta IPA, what a s*@tshow...wow. Assuming the staff was probably overwhelmed but I felt bad for the people who did not know what line to wait in, mainly because the staff was ignoring anyone waiting for a table. One asked the other if they should start a list...lol. Saw one guy get so upset, he ripped his mask off inside....sheesh, people need to chill out. Happy holidays everyone.

 

I thought they had like a host stand outside for the tables?

 

Not today! Plenty of empty tables but no one knew there were people waiting to be seated, kind of a cluster which is hard to believe that breweries haven't figured the logistics of this out yet.

 

Its possible they were just short staffed today...

 

Host stand has been moved inside recently. Both to go orders and people looking to sit on the patio need to see the same host/hostess inside (one line). Someone can please correct me if I’m wrong.

This is without a doubt the most asinine setup of any Chicagoland brewery under COVID. No curbside option at all, one giant line for everyone, one entrance being used for everyone, and no one from the brewery directs any traffic. It feels like, contrary to common sense, they don’t mind lines, and want everyone that steps foot on the property to have to enter the taproom where they are hocking merch.

The poor organization has kept me from visiting beyond pickup at odd hours.

Seriously, all I hear is “uh, this stout is too sweet” or “their ipas are getting there, still middle of the road but improving” yada yada yada...
