Well nvm then lol I didn’t notice it until 8:51 and I was F5’ing for like 10 mins

 

This would have never happened with Tock

 

Damn, should've checked early. Well at least I snagged a vanilla 2019.

 

No clue when it originally went up at Lincoln, but it was also at the very bottom of the page for a few minutes before it got moved to the top. A friend was telling our group that Lincoln was also up and we all thought he was losing it

 

As you can imagine, people in the instagram comments are being super chill about this.

 

Maybe releasing Benthic is cursed?

I know I'm going to be accused of being butthurt here and I want to emphasize that I'm not. I got the Benthic I wanted in the last go. But to put it on the website as going on sale at 9 and then releasing the hounds a half hour early is a pretty shitty move. Again, I really like Half Acre and they're worth their praise, but if you say you're gonna do it at a specific time, then do it at the time you said you would.

 

Wouldn’t there be more complaining if the site crashed at 9am due to a crush of orders? Breweries can do whatever they want with a release. Since you are on BA, you knew about the early release just fine. And as you said you weren’t even buying any. But flame on!

 

There'd be complaining no matter how they posted their limited beer for sale.

 

Complaining about the style of a release (in person line vs. lottery vs. online sale) is inevitable.

People complaining because the the product up for sale substantially before the time they said it would go live is a totally different thing. I feel like it's more of an unforced error than something like a site crash or even toggling something wrong on Tock.

Agreed that there's complaining no matter what, and honestly the comments on IG are more tame than I've come to expect

To be honest, I didn't know anything about an early release until I looked at this thread after everything was sold. Like many other nerds, I was seeing if I could get some extra DUBL. All I'm saying is that if breweries say they're gonna sell it at 9, then end up doing it a half hour earlier that's a crappy move.

 

Was it really “substantially” though when it was about a half hour early?

Anyways, everyone complaining about Half Acre not living up to their iron clad contract about when limited beer goes on sale is just ensuring Half Acre won’t put a time on it at all in the future, a la Revolution.

 

That’s the best way to do it honestly, from the breweries perspective

 

Pretty bizarre stance you're trying to take here.

I'm guessing most of the variants were sold out before 9AM, so yes, 30 minutes would make a big difference.

It's really not that hard. If you say you will make something limited open for sale at 9AM and you do it early, it's hard to justify.
