6th Grand Cru is right above 1 VRU
BA Cake Pop a little above 0.5 VRU

Thanks! Poked around a bit. Seen some fluctuations on the cru.

Agreed on the fluctuations. I think trade value is still solid, but a lot of flippers are selling for low prices on MBC, which will inevitably drive down trade value to a small extent.

I have traded for bourbon before, but looking to trade rarer beer (BBT, maybe a KBBS) for upper shelf easy to get 21, 25 yo Scotch for my dad. Haven't seen much scotch trade here, but do you think that will be doable here?

You probably would find some takers however you would be trading at cost for someone’s secondary value beer. I believe someone was looking to trade for a dom p which is readily available for beer they already had but they wouldn’t have to come out of pocket for it. You have till the occasional wine trade as well. Good luck with your trade. Try posting what you have so people have an idea of what you have as far as trade value.

@Rustytacos provides good advice as usual, but I guess I'm a bit puzzled by what you're trying to do. In essence, it sounds as if this is just a way for you to get around the cash for beer prohibition on BA, asking someone to send you some scotch instead of money for your beer. I realize the liquor tax in Washington is exhorbitant, but even so, with the cost of shipping and handling of the scotch, I don't see how this is saving you any money (by essentially buying scotch from a state that has a lower sales tax). I guess what I'm asking... If this is how you want to dispose of your rare, highly desirable beer, why not just sell it on one of the various (and numerous) online sites, and then use the proceeds to buy some great scotch for your dad? It's not as if the local Total Wine stores in the Puget Sound area don't have a great (albeit pricey) selection of great scotch.

I am going to push back on this a bit. Selling beer and trading are two different things. Just because you can find the bottle at a local shop (which we are not sure is true depending on what scotch we are talking about) doesn't mean that trading for that bottle is akin to selling it.

Shoot, you're in Costco home turf. Go get that +20 scotch they usually have. Heard it's pretty good. It's like 150? And that BBT you have, just send it right over . Good luck

When I read the post...I didn't think anything of it but after reading your post John.....yeah I'm confused - why not just buy it?

I always appreciate everyones opinion here but am interpretating this as I have a beer worth X dollars on secondary and want to convert that beer to an equivalent value scotch. This seems nothing new and typical of previous questions around KBBS to bourbon. Perhaps I am missing something here and would gladly appreciate it being pointed out.

Regarding scotch recommendations, try posting on the r/scotch Reddit sub with what you are looking for and what your dad likes. I have a hunch you will find something better for less than the secondary value of KBBS.

Appreciate all the input. I guess I've looked at this trade as what I've done before for bourbon in the past. I've bought beer at a brewery that ended up with high secondary value, and the other person has bought bourbon at their local shop at or near cost which has high secondary value. I didn't look at this as selling, but reading some of the above post, I guess it could be interpreted that way since what I'm looking for is more available than highly sought after, hard to find bourbon.

I’m just circling back around to this.
@Hawkfish You have a bbt and maybe a kbbs and are thinking of trading it for expensive scotch correct?

Anyone know anything about Ledaig Dusgadh 42yr single malt scotch? An aquantance was gifted a bottle. Seems like it's a big buck's bottle. Is this rare or is this widely available?

slight difference here is that most scotches are priced much closer to their “value” than bourbons are. At least this has been my experience
