A musty leathery jacket at go, with garland woodsy funk to softening(s) of floral peach lemonade. The forestry navigation has vinous, white grape elasticity as cellared oak stretches across sharp pine needles, honey enriched fruit and sweet Acorn bread. The balanced essences have tangy backing in assorted skins that work to progression in tropical rain, while sticky tea leaves, and strawberry-peach gummies ripen

The current life stage is treating this Super Saison rather well -

just got a delivery of cans from F&M this afternoon.

Once again their skill with Dark Milds comes through! Always a little different, but usually excellent.

I’ve gotten beer from them twice and really like their saisons and IPAs. Just wish they were a bit closer.

I just visited the Forest & Main website and learned that they are pricing their House Lager for 16 bucks a four-pack/16 ounce cans.

Pricing like this makes me further appreciate the local 'old school' breweries like Sly Fox, Troegs, Victory,... and their high quality lagers at reasonable prices.

Time for another 15-pack of Victory Classic Lager at $20.

    Cheers!

or Imprint's Saaz Czech lager for $15 for a four pack.

That said, it's pretty good. Never thought I'd say that about an Imprint beer, but here we are.

That’s standard pricing for F&M though, that’s to be expected from them. Tired Hands goes for that same premium price range as well (Trendler beers are $15 a four pack, little guppie is $12.50 a sixer). All of their bitters, dark milds, etc. go for $16/pack so I’m not very surprised about this.

To each their own, as always, but I’ll definitely be picking up a 4 pack or two to try at some point. F&M is definitely a treat/splurge place for me; if I feel like I need more volume (as well as more value per oz), I’ll grab some Jack’s Abby or Tonewood Blackbird when it comes out ($11 a four pack last year...can’t go wrong with any of their pricing...$44 for a case of fresh tasty pils this summer was nice as well).

I will be interested in hearing your thoughts about House Lager (maybe a NBW post?).

We are fortunate to have plenty of choices of high quality lagers that are brewed in SEPA, both from the 'old school' breweries and newer breweries like Sterling Pig, Root Down,...

I am happy to pay less for the high quality lagers available to us.

    Cheers!

    Will do!

I hear ya. Obviously I don’t know F&M’s financials but I doubt they could ever compete with the Sky Fox’s and Victory’s of the world considering the difference in brewing capacity. I presume it is much less cost effective to brew a lager on a smaller system like F&M does so I’m assuming they have to price it accordingly to make it cost effective for them. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Lots of small breweries make quality lagers for cheaper (Tonewood being one of the ones I mentioned). I don’t blame you for choosing to pay less for similar quality. Have a happy thanksgiving!

I have purchased many six-packs of Sterling Pig Shoats Pilsner at my local Wegmans for $7.99. I would strongly recommend that beer to you.

    Cheers!

P.S. Sterling Pig Brewing is a small brewery.

Attention cask ale fans... Forest&Main just announced selling a 5L take home cask conditioned bag in a box (ala boxed wine) of Dark Mild. Very intriguing. Although as the only beer drinker in my house, I wonder how quickly you'd have to drink the 10 pints.

Putting my reply in this thread since it's specific to F&M.

Not that particular beer, but I've gotten several different Dark Milds from them in cans before which have been very good. Don't know where you are located, but normally they do deliveries to Montgomery County on Fridays. They seem to announced 2 or 3 new beers every week and normally sell out within a week or two. But this week looks like its curbside pickup only with Christmas holiday this week.

They are releasing another box of cask ale, a bitter. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJXADByl-nY/

Anyone on BA happen to pick up one of the first round of boxes and have any feedback on how they held up? The only feedback I see on Instagram is a comment noting "been drinking the last one all week and haven’t seen much of a dip in quality fwiw! keep these coming"

I just visited the Forest & Main website and for part of the description of the Bitter Ale in the box:

“We recommend that you keep these boxes cold if you don’t plan on drinking them immediately. Once opened, we recommend you drink all 5 liters at a good clip.”

It would be helpful if “good clip’ was quantified (e.g., within x days).

    Cheers!
