12 Belgian Beers that Defined the Decade

I know most of the traffic in this forum is aiming at Anderlecht and Lot but there’s so much more going on. This is a must read, and not just for the list but the introduction with some very honorable mentions.

I'm a big fan of Belgian Smaak. Great articles, great podcasts. Informative and engaging.

Belgian Smaak is my number one source for all things Belgian beer. Wish more people in Belgium were doing the great reporting on their beer that Brendan does.

There is some cool stuff doing on in Belgian beer outside of the lambic producers, which doesn’t get enough attention for sure. Had some great beers at Dok the last time I was in Ghent, then there’s Brussels Beer Project, and of course De La Senne. Also some good contract brands trying new things instead of just making another Tripel which is nice. Plus some of the standbys like De Ranke and De Dolle still experimenting a lot. And those things are definitely causing some of the more traditional brands to experiment more, Brabandere has been coming out with tons of new beers (not all of them hits admittedly), Duvel being on the list tells you something.

That was a very nice article. Can't believe I've had 4 beers on that list. Also can't believe spontanbasil is still in production and I'm over here sweating my last bottle in the cellar
