Bruery RS/HS Allocations (2020)

I really wanted to try the BA vs. Non-BA. I'll figure something out with the rest.

I opened my only Sundae Sunday 2018 back in August, after having 2020. I thought it was great and still had plenty of vanilla. I got a heavy berries and cream vibe and really thought if fit the Sundae profile. 2020, to me, was more of a Boysenberry treatment for BT. I did pick up another 2018.

 

The original BA 4 Calling Birds is one of my favorite beers The Bruery has ever done. I'm curious how the new version compares to the first batch.

 

I have the same sentiment/interest for BA 5 Golden... Though I never tried it fresh which makes comparison even harder.

 

For those of you that have had your beer locally delivered before. Do you receive a confirmation email for when its gone out or on the way? I put in a request last night to have the contents of my cellar delivered to me today but I haven't heard from them since I paid the 5 bucks for delivery.

Happy to report I opened it a few minutes ago and its one of the best ones in the box so far (still have to open 3FH, 2TD, and PiaPT). Spices and the bourbon/barrel play off each other nice. I've never had the original BA 4CB but I had the OG non-BA one last year, and I think I prefer this BA one to the original one.

 

Added you to an email for a BT 3L bottle I was having an issue with. Haven't heard anything from society since last week.

 

same. it was a little wine heavy for me initially but ive had a couple in this last year or so and I thought they were amazing so I picked up another. As you said very berry and vanilla cream taste

 

Stop the presses! Why isn't Monkey Bizness one of the Hoarder Box beers being re-brewed next year?!? It's freaking fantastic. The cinnamon and pecan are so flavorful. Honestly, while not a stout, it's scratching the itch left by Batch 1 Churriosity, with echoes of that glorious 2018 Hoarder Cuvee (but without the ginger).

 

Monkeey Bizness was definitely the Bizness.

Also cracked open a Antojitos Licuados last night. Such an easy drinker, cinnamon wasn't overpowering, was nice and subtle and the natural banana and vanilla flavor came through quite nicely. Before I knew it, the whole bottle was gone....haha

 

Finally had my cellar delivered. Will echo what was said previously about Birnesnap. Very good, not as sweet as Apfel. Pear and port blend really well. Despite my overfill cellar, need to grab more.

Ah Fudge is also worth a mention. So many of these 10%-er pastry stouts, it’s hard to keep up (suspect this is a larger marketing strategy). But rich chocolate flavor and nice walnut on top. I still would prefer the 13% plus version (melange 15 anyone?). But this will do.

I mean, Xmas + Covid = all carriers fucked.

I had an issue last week where either they had a bad address for me or something weird, so my package sat in limbo for a week. But, I could see the error message on the tracking page, so I emailed their customer service, plus I asked @SaisonSteve who logged a ticket on their end, and one way or another it all got sorted out. So if they're showing an error of some sort I guess try that? But otherwise if they're just behind I guess make Reign your New Year treat?

 

Opened a 2016 Hoarders Cuvee (Terreux) last night at a Christmas party with a lot of non craft beer drinkers. The beer was a total hit, I was surprised at how well received the beer was. It is drinking great! The flip side was I also opened a 2020 Sundae Sunday and that fell flat for most people, as it is still very hot. Everyone have fun tonight!

 

YUP! Ordered a 3L Black Tuesday when it dropped hoping to get it in time for Christmas. Floated around GSO for a few days and then it seemed to disappear. Already notified society and it's being "investigated". Oh well.

 

Has anyone tried out the chocolate churriosity yet?

 

A friend has a 3L of beautification lost by GSO yesterday.
