    How small NG footprint? .

Not sure what you're asking -- I live about 20 minutes from the WI border and a good NG source. But I'm probably 50 minutes from downtown Chicago.

If you're asking about actual NG in Chi -- zero.

You can get NG as soon as you cross into WI....so maybe a 45 minute drive from O'Hare

Yeah, but those gas stations don't like you sitting in their parking lots slugging down six-packs. So I'm told.

NG does not distribute outside the state of Wisconsin. Yet, they’re the 15th largest craft brewer and 25th largest overall. It helps that their beer is available EVERYWHERE in WI. If you’re ever coming into Chicago, there are enough people that head over the border to pick up a case or two (or three) that you can probably arrange some kind of trade.

Milwaukee is a fun time. I was there for work for a month. Lot of good beer food and baseball. I am going back when this pandemic is done. The art museum was real nice and there is a beach.

    Enjoy

Milwaukee has its rough parts like most larger cities, but it also has wonderful things to do. I would suggest coming in summer, as almost every weekend in the summer there is a different ethnic festival at the lakefront (when Summerfest isn't going on), tailgating at the baseball stadium formerly known as (and still known as by true fans) Miller Park, the State Fair is a great day out, and the weather is nice. Not to mention the natural beauty located outside the city or on a cruise on the lake. Don't diss it until you try it. Southwest flys to Milwaukee, many times for the same price as or for less than Chicago Midway.

I was gonna mention that Milwaukee is right on a great lake, but I figured that wasn't the beach experience that would sway nc41's wife.

It's the one that will be now named after an insurance company. But I have many a fond memory of watching the Brewers play (and mainly lose) at County Stadium.

The Packers had a similar problem there -- maybe it was the stadium?

Didn't help that my games for the Brewers were in the dark days of the late 90's. And the Packers were in their dark years between Lombardi and Ron Wolf. #TheBearsStillSuck

Shouldn’t diss what I don’t know, but limited knowledge is dangerous it appears in this case. But I guarantee my wife isn’t interested in Milwaukee unless it was for business purposes. I’m going to lump the beach part into being a warm weather location like SC or FL, to be honest I haven’t been to a NC beach since we’ve lived here for over 25 years, that warm gulf water in SC is just so nice in summer. She is up for runs into VT though, or Boston, Philly where we’d be able to drive. She’s a champ, but her idea of a good time isn’t watching me hunched over a beer glass sniffing and slurping beers all day, and I’d want a car where I could haul some home. I could probably swing her to Chicago though. I guess when I hear northern industrial city I’m thinking Detroit, Newark, Camden, he’ll even Baltimore has its nice places, but when I think Philly/ Balt I think shit hole, and I’m from Philly. So for those no offense intended, just picked on the stereotype.

Went up to Wisconsin for training several times, I enjoyed my time in Milwaukee, would happily revisit. I was always in Pewaukee for the majority of the time

Let me amend that to Italian Roast Beef sandwich’s with jardiniere on it. In Philly people only think Cheesesteaks, but don’t sleep on Johns Roast Pork with provolone and broccoli rabb, dipped in juices.

The roast pork is a hidden gem. Other than hoagies..... the soft pretzel could be traded for crack.

Ah, C'mon Just go to Beloit and experience Wisconsin and Illinois. Man, I spent a few days there on a college recruiting visit, in February. That was a cold cold even with the dry weather. We drank wine with the natives.

Wine? Gray's beers were probably available.

And I'm surprised it wasn't Old Fashioneds.

No trouble at the border crossing? I hear the South Beloit officials can be especially tough.
