It is pretty damn good!

 

Sucks is, indeed, accurate for all of Heineken beer.

 

While they're at it, put Willetized back in the 6pak format.

 

Is Sucks actually back to being an Amazing IPA or is it still a syrupy mess?

I have heard that Lagunitas is just the high volume Stone. Geographicly they are close but I doubt that is true. I wonder how the rumor started?

The biggest difference I see is that lagunitas hasnt dropped all of their nonipa offerings. Bought a Russian imperial stout bomber (under $6 out the door!) earlier this year. But pretty much just hard at work cranking out hoppy beers

 

And thank goodness for that. My most recent Lagunitas purchase was the Willetized Stout.

And with the 'announcement' today that Sierra Nevada dropped Summerfest and replaced it with an IPA there is another distributing brewery that is getting more and more hoppy/IPA centric.

Ya, unfortunately its Sierra that is looking more like the next stone these days. I won't miss summerfest because I prefer scrimshaw anyway but the mad dash into IPA (and mostly hazy IPA) only is disconcerting. I need to go stock up on some porter.

Where the hell is willetized in my area? I'm about to go buy some 2 year old bottles from the fancy shop

 

The good news is that Willetized ages very nicely IMO. I have not gone two years but I had a couple of bottles left from last year that I drank a few weeks ago and they brought a smile to my face.

I've never seen a single bottle of this beer. I'm half convinced that it's not real.

 

Well one fancy bottle shop has the last two years available at $3/bottle. And I bought both of those fresh for similar prices so its real. Distro seems weird this year

 

This is the first year that I've seen it appear in Maine, since moving here in 2018. Seems perhaps they shuffled their distro map a little bit. I'm not complaining. Perhaps the best barrel-aged stout bargain.

 

Ya the frustrating thing to me is that I'm only 4 hours from Petaluma

 

I picked up a 4 pack just this week. Merry Christmas (to me)!
