Picked up Green Condition, drinking really nice, I'd call it a peak-Finback DIPA. Dank up front with a lightly-sweet tropical fruit finish, bitter throughout.

I picked up some bottles Saturday. Surprised by how quickly the line moved in BK. Everyone had mask and was spaced out, at least towards the back of the line. I still think it was unnecessary. Wanted to try the Double Barrel on tap but the taprooms was packed to capacity. No way I was setting foot in there.

How is this years BQE? I never made it over Saturday because I broke my fucking foot stepping into a pot hole.

I'm really liking the black current/PF IPA. It's got something different I can't really put my finger on, but the mix of hops and fruit on the nose is quite nice.

Also, I missed out on the BQE stuff but the Mortality Wanes was superb. The neuromancer...not so much.

Finished my second BQE variant today. My take on the chai is that it is way too spiced for my taste- nothing subtle about it at all. If you love chai I think you'd enjoy that one. If you ended up with bottles as part of your set, maybe work it into a beer cocktail with some hot cocoa or coffee or something?

The granola on the other hand is pretty awesome, speaking as someone who enjoys but doesn't love fruited stouts. Quite happy to have another one of those on hand for later this winter (perfect Valentine's beer actually).

Common to both bottles is Finback's signature body and roast/sweet balance that rightly generates positive buzz about their stouts. Looking forward to trying the banana and regular next week- anyone have thoughts on those or the double barrel and how double barrel compares to regular BA BQE (there is still a non-BA BQE right?).

Oscillation 023 is definitely a buy. Citrus. Dank. Creamy. Diesel.

Finback really killed it this year. Love it.

    +1 on that

the oscillation series is hands down the most consistently amazing beer of 2020 for me. 4 different ones (20-23) I had this year, all with different hops yet all so damn good. 22 was prob my favorite which is weird since i don’t like coconut yet the Sabro worked so well with the diesel burn. Can’t wait for that gowanus taproom to open for real next year.

Finback did kill it this year, not a fan of 023 yet.
