Never had Summerfest so I cant really comment. I have started to see fresh Stout so thats a plus. Last year I found one six of Bigfoot and the one beer place I asked about it had no idea about it. If Bigfoot goes away that would be a shame. Dankful as a year round is nice.

    Enjoy

Summerfest will likely show up in mix packs from time to time, same as Ruthless Rye, Tumbler and Flipside have done

I have not seen a SN variety pack that was not just a bunch of hoppy beers in quite some time (2 years ago?).

While I wish you are correct here I seriously doubt it.

    Cheers!

Come on, join me and bring your pitchforks to Chico!

My impression around here is that this beer sold rather well and sold out.

When they bring out pitchers of Pale Ale, you'll all cave. And you know it.

Yes, and there a lot more bigger breweries putting various lagers on the shelf too.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't give it the stout/porter treatment. It clearly sells well in some areas and I assume they have the logistic capacity to brew minimal batches and send it to the markets that like it. Maybe they're just trying to drum up some.hype. Or maybe they will bring back a rebranded pilsner at a later date

I kinda doubt it too and am just trying to be optimistic. But wasn't their Helles (Tropic something?) in mix pack last year sometime? Or maybe that was 2 years ago. I lost all semblance of time.

This is yet another reminder that we are just a small, vocal portion of the overall consumer base. Summerfest getting kicked to the curb is a huge disappointment, and the fact that it's getting replaced by another homogeneous hazy IPA just adds fuel to the fire. It's gone for a reason though and I get that. I love SN but with the freshness of their remaining offerings getting worse each year I really don't see myself purchasing much of their beer anymore, which is a stark contrast to five years ago.

Before they released Dankful IPA a few months ago the only Sierra Nevada beer I intended to purchase this year is Celebration. I wonder if Celebration will go the way of Summerfest? Or maybe they will figure out a way to 'haze out' Celebration?

    Cheers!

Summerfest is a good beer, but the locals here in northeast Ohio (Fat Head’s, Noble Beast), put out some fine lagers that are just as good or better. And down south, Wooly Pig is right there as well.
On the flip side, Dankful is awesome, and all the better at $9.99 a sixer

Wow, didn't see that coming as the Summerfest always seemed like a very popular lager. I would think it is about time for the hazy look to fade away.

I was wondering if anyone would catch that. That was a good beer, by the way. If I remember right, they sold that in 12 packs too.

I heard they're making it hazy and taking my suggestion to add some real holiday spice and lactose!

Oh wait, thats already been done...https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/48715/520351/ (hazy pumpkin spice latte IPA with lactose. I drank some...)
