Sorry, but that is immature imo. Unless you avoid larger companies for ALL your purchases, you are simply being a hypocrite by treating beer differently.

All this talk about Langunitas and its variety has made me wonder. I looked them up on the local big box liquor store. I was surprised at how many they stocked. I always considered them a one or two style show,

I think this is going to be a Langunitas New Year.

I agree with you- so many people have this blind spot. I get that we are on a beer appreciation website, but why anyone would be against quality products at an affordable price is beyond me. It is not like Lagunitas is brewing their beer in child slave labor camps in inner Mongolia. I drink a lot of beer and it can't all be local 20 dollar 4 packs. I am drinking a super sap by Tree House as I type this, but the beer before that was a Miller Lite, and the one before that was a BA Ten Fiddy.

I do not care, call me immature. I still do not like Heineken. I spent some time in Dubai and that was all many places had (except for a Turkish beer called Efes. a guaranteed hangover). A couple years is enough. I never want to drink a Heineken again.

Then don't drink actual Heineken. I don't like it either. But just because they own Lagunitas...

Just be nice to get some before New Years. One of my favorites from Lagunitas

I know that Heineken owns Lagunitas. Since America will not invest in American businesses some in another country has to. Did Stella (InBev) really make any difference to Anheuser-Busch.

I have not been in Dubai for about 5 years but you could also find Stella on occasion. I cannot ever remember seeing Bud. I will bet that has changed. I wonder if you can find Lagunitas there now.

I wish that I could agree. I was very excited when I saw Sucks on the shelves at my favorite distributor early this Fall. I picked up a six with great anticipation, but it ended up disappointing me.

I liked the balance this beer had but I think it has now swung decidedly to the malty end of the spectrum. The brightness of the hops seemed to be gone and the flavor was much more syrupy than in its heyday.

I accept the possibility that my palate has changed or my memory made it out to be better than it once was. Either way, I probably won't be getting it again.

I haven't gotten this batch because that's been my experience with the last few. That first batch, and those quarts, were just such clean brite bitter beers. Those types of beers are rare these days

Exactly. This is no knock on Lags or even Heineken. It just doesn't seem like it is the beer it was in the early years..

Cool. If "beer is beer" why do we even bother drinking any beer that's not just the cheapest thing in the county?

Why do we bother with casks, Belgians, barrel-aged stuff, sours, and all the rest? Beer is beer, right?

Bro, your refrigerator isn't hand crafted from salvage and fuelled by locally foraged freon?!?!:triumph: Do you even care?

In other news, megacorp beer co. absolutely killed it with willetized. I think adding the tears of their exploited child workers to the barrels really helped the flavors meld. I will 100% be buying more willetized. Almost certainly gonna go get some bottles from '18 and '19 and have myself a little vertical.
