Uh -- there's a whole, huge thread that was started this morning.

    Look for RIP Summerfest, unfortunately.

    I just found it.

Regardless Summerfest is still being shown on the Website.

Edit....just clicked on Summer and it says archived......Oh well

    Enjoy

I am enjoying one right now. Citrus tangerine flavor dominates. Balanced and refreshing. Not very hoppy.

Not to change the subject- I will check out the other thread- but another lager bites the dust. Ugh.

Surprised this one clocks in at 7.5%, seems like lower abv would make more sense. Either way, I’ll most likely take a pass on this one.

I know there is a separate Summerfest thread, but still. 40th Anniversary replaced with a fruit beer, Summerfest replaced with a session hazy, Tumbler seemingly gone forever, and still no sign of Porter, Stout, or Bigfoot anywhere near me. SN seems to be losing its way. Pale Ale, Torpedo, and Celebration are wonderful beers that I will always buy. But what was once a well-rounded brewery that could be counted upon to produce solid, reliable, and affordably-priced beers across multiple styles is becoming just another trend follower, throwing away wonderful products that have stood the test of time so they can sell the flavor of the month. What a shame.

Yup, they are in the running to 'win' the contest to change their name to IPA Brewing Company.

Non-cheers to SN nixing so many of their brands!

This sounds pretty intriguing. Gonna have to swing by the local Publix and see if they have gotten it in yet.

Even so I am still enjoying Celebration.

I would encourage you to buy more and enjoy Celebration Ale while you can. Who knows whether this beer will still be brewed much longer? At least it is still listed to be a product for 2021 but with the rapidity of SN nixing long term brands (e.g., Summerfest) and replacing them with hazy beers who really knows here?

    Cheers!

I am an admitted fanboy of SN, but I have to admit that Hazy Little Thing and the Imperial version of it don't measure up to the tried and true, the SNPAs, the Torpedos, and the Celebration Ale. Not that it is bad by any means and I have drank my share of them, but they just aren't quite up to standard.

Summerfest usually sits on the shelf well into the fall around here. I'm guilty of not always buying it when it drops.

I'm surprised they haven't nixed the holy trinity of impossible to find beers yet: Stout, Porter, and Kellerweiss. I'd buy the shit out of it if I didn't have to go an hour and a half to Birmingham to Hop City to buy it. I'm getting too old to make those types of beer runs anymore.

Hmm, just give it time until this decision is reached?

For all intents and purposes in my area these products have been nixed.

    Cheers!

I'll certainly give this a try once it comes into the store. I'm sure it will be solid, maybe even great. That said I have to strongly agree with others who've said that it is sad to see Summerfest go. Even though it wasn't my personal favorite, it was a very solid and delicious lager that I purchased/enjoyed multiple times a year. I love Sierra Nevada and hope this isn't a sign they are the next to become just an IPA brewery. Please Sierra Nevada don't become the next Stone.

Looks like America store shelves will soon be dominated and consolidated to AALs and various sub styles of IPAs for craft options. Got to make room for the seltzer and ciders.

It seems to me that Sierra Nevada, for all intents and purposes, is already 'there'.

    Non-cheers to IPA Brewing Companies!

    Mildly interested.
It's SN, so I'll probably give it a go. A single, anyways.

Agreed on the abv thing. Kolsch isn’t something I want imperialized.
