Will switch things up with two from Madonna on Two for Tuesday.

 

Have not had this in a bit and last time I believe it was a trade. Nice stuff and with the hops used stands out as slightly different. Cheers all and please save me a seat won’t be back until much later.

I had the base beer back in 2009 and wasn't impressed - I'd like to try it again now, now that I LOVE barleywines. Does Troeg's even still make it? Alcohol-soaked but still inquiring minds want to know.

 

Looks like somebody is ready to come back inside.

w/ turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, star anise, oats, cardamom and vanilla bean

hazy with a bunch of mini floaty lookin things. Smell of turmeric is so strong it comes across as cool and minty. Licorice is there. Cinnamon is there. Ginger subtle. Vanilla sweetness.

the turmeric milk tea they were inspired by well they absolutely nailed it. It’s good stuff. In regards to beer? I’m on fence wether it works or not. I like it but I don’t like mint. There is a cooling effect the turmeric is so heavy that it becomes minty/ fruity. Surprisingly though it doesn’t get medicinal. I’m back and forth with it. It’s also a crispy beer for 8% and hides the ABV entirely. Oddest beer I might have ever had really. I’m glad I got to try it.

Really good beer and one of the only Irish red ales I have ever had. Listening to some Blues Brothers.
