What beer are you drinking now? #2994

Ending the year with two planned pours from Michigan brewers. Starting the morning with one of my favorite fruit beers, a raspberry ale, paired with blueberries, Founders Rubaeus.



While I missed out on several breweries planned for another Midwest beer road trip this Summer, I'm still grateful for the many I hit out West last Winter before the closures, and the Beer Zombie beer fest I attended Leap Year Day in Las Vegas Nevada. Let's all take a moment to remember the beers, experiences and people we enjoyed throughout the year, before ringing in 2021.

4.9% ABV Helles.

could have sworn I’ve had this before but there’s no review so I’ll freshly review it......

Pale gold in color. Foam layer thin on top. Smells of sweet doughy malts. Vinous hop character. White grape. Taste is herbal hop up front followed by raw white dough. White bread. Almost a Pinot Grigio character in the vinous “white grape juice” like hop flavors and honey type malt. Finish is subtlety dry very full bodied. Big but easy going. Low side of medium carbonation. I’d call it “chubby”.

Overall perfectly balanced and non offensive.

Likewise here. My late father had an album of 78rpm records he bought in the 1940's. One of his favorite groups was the Ink Spots. It took me years to realize why he liked them.

Springfields S-Bomb! Fresh NEIPA from Uiltje. Canned two days ago. Bought a case of 12 today at the brewery in Haarlem.
Preparing for an easy New Year's Eve at home. Nothing special. No champagne, but plenty of beer.
