Aside from the eventbrite hype stouts, isn’t EQ hitting more shelves than even OH? Feel like I’ve seen threads where people are seeing them in CA and I want to say even somewhere like Alabama or Arkansas or somewhere unexpected like that

I recall seeing the same thing about wide availability of EQ beers recently. They certainly sit at the spots I shop at due to them being what I consider to be obscenely over-priced.
I don't understand why people feel the need to tell breweries how they should run their business. It's a strong example of the entitled mindset. With this situation specifically, from what I understand they sold out a large quantity of beer in a very short period of time. Suggesting they do something differently to better accommodate a small fraction of their customers doesn't seem like a wise business decision to me.

Yeah I’m with you. Some well thought out criticism in normal times is one thing. But right now - if our fave breweries are still in business at the end of all this, then that should be seen as a big win all round. As long as how they sell their beer is COVID-safe and not egregiously-priced, they should do their thing

I mean, everyone has always criticized any brewery for not meeting demand. Then, once they meet demand, THE BEER ISN'T THE SAME. I'm not even denying that happens with new equipment etc. Here in NJ a small brewery, Troon, has to currently do online releases with Instagram alerts that sell out in 1-3 minutes, for a pair of crowlers. People used to go to the restaurant on the same property of the brewery at 5pm, and often hang there HOPING FOR A RELEASE. So, spoiler alert, they're mad that it is all online now. So now this middle of nowhere nj location limited release is available to non locals. Plus of course the standard "the system SUXX," "WHY'D IT SELL OUT SO QUICK."
well they make enough for 250 allotments or whatever and the number of craft beer lunatics within an hour drive far exceeds that allotment. Period.
EQ stouts are the same. You can't have lines. There's no online way to presume "a local." You could have an unannounced release of some bottles, but not in covid times, at least not for bottles that apparently can get me a PS5.

TLDR: you can't have lines. You can never meet demand, until you can, and then you're 2019 BCBS sitting on the shelf in November 2020. People will complain no matter what and there's no great fix. Your local-ness means nothing to a brewery with distribution and people driving 2 hours for a bottle of stout (unless you buy big on draft when COVID ends, which let's face it, you don't).

I just want consistent ipas that don't have a greater than 33% chance of being oxidized snow globes.

    You're TL;DR was TL;DR.

    TL;DR: you can't please everyone.

Fair point, especially when they're going $28 a four in NJ vs. OH ACE at $22 as an example. There is definitely QC issues it sounds like, which is crazy since they went from brewery I wanted to visit after the pandemic to possibly a skip in lieu of more Suarez spending. There's too many good NEIPAs readily available in NJ alone for me to waste time on a theoretical future vacation (featuring a child) at a brewery whose main draw appears to be line shares of pastry stouts and brisket at 1030am. I do hope they improve though as the couple triples I had a million years ago from them were actually superior to most of other halfs similar ABV offerings.
