    Other Half Brooklyn:
195 Centre St Brooklyn, NY 11231

Closest Subway Station: Smith-9th St (F and G Train)
Be sure to check http://web.mta.info/weekender.html for updates!

Parking: The best bet for parking is usually on the other side of the Court Street, the other side of the expressway. Please don't park at McDonalds as they're known to tow.

There are Citi Bikes at Smith/9th as well.

    Other Half Domino Park:
    34 River Street, NY 11249

Closest Subway Stations: Marcy Ave (JMZ Trains), The new and improved Bedford stop! (L Train)
Be sure to check http://web.mta.info/weekender.html for updates!

Parking: There's street parking around but you it may take a while to find a spot.

There are several Citi Bike stations nearby.

You could also take the ferry to either the North Williamsburg or South Williamsburg stop.

Current Tap List + Available Cans:https://otherhalfbrewing.com/location/taproom

Growler Fills: Other Half uses a Counter Pressure fill system. This requires that all 32oz and 64oz growlers have a 1.125” standard threaded opening. See their website for more info or just chime in here as you're more likely to do.

Other Half branded growlers require a $5 deposit. Growlers from other breweries are welcome but must follow those measurement guidelines. Not all beers are available for growler fills, please check the tap room menu board for details.

Can and Bottles Sales: Cans and bottles are released nearly every day and are announced via Instagram. Cans and bottles may be purchased online the day you will be picking them up (or after hours the day before if we're being technical). It usually takes ~15 minutes for an online order to be available for pickup. Call when the vehicle transporting your beer is out front. Proxies allowed! Also walk up orders are allowed.

Other Half delivers beer to NYC and surrounding areas over the week. Check Instagram for the delivery schedule and the available beers.

Beer for shipping is available for customers in DC, NY, NH, PA, VA, and VT. Ordering is open from 12pm Monday – 12pm Wednesday weekly. All orders ship on Wednesday afternoon via UPS and typically arrive by the end of day Friday. These typically sell out pretty quickly

Other Half Gear: https://store.otherhalfbrewing.com or swing by the taproom.

    Outside Beer:
Do not open bottles or cans in the Tap Room unless you have permission from the Other Half crew. Do not drink while waiting outside on line for releases. The sidewalk is NYC property and you can get a open container ticket. Tickets have been given out in Domino Park for drinking.

Kids and Dogs: Yes both are permitted. In the case of dogs, be aware there are brewery cats that hang around.

I removed some of the info from the previous post. If you found it helpful, report the post and have the section copied. If we want to collect the same for the DP location I'm sure we could crowdsource it!

    Happy New Year's all!

Happy New Year everyone, this might be the can of Butterfly Door, the two shots of Willet Bourbon, and the can of DHCHDHCHDD whatever Mylar Bags I've had talking, along with the high I'm getting by currently watching Kurosawa's riveting Seven Samurai, but hoping to see you all soon for what will surely be a wild BA meet up some time this year.

I understand from your post that we shouldn't park at McDonald's, but is eating there okay? Just asking for a friend who moved out to the suburbs recently and no longer has his finger on the pulse of local dining options close to Other Half.

Happy New Year to you and everyone else, too. Especially all those new dads, who brought life and love into the world when it most needed it. I know I'm on record as saying this year will be much better. Although that won't be clear right away, it will. It fucking better be.

But you all helped make last year more bearable, and I'll always remain grateful for that.

P.S. This is normally @NewmansOwn's line of work, but I think yesterday's thoughtful and heartfelt message from Other Half is worth quoting in full. Whatever you think of any one of their hundreds of beers or their marketing and expansion strategies, they are, without question, good people. And that's what matters more than anything.

"It’s been a long year, but looking back we can see how far we’ve come. Although the challenges were great, we as a team overcame it all. We were able to gather the support of over 850 breweries worldwide to support our service industry community #alltogether We opened @otherhalfdc and @otherhalfdominopark had our first anniversary @otherhalf.flx We toasted today our #worldwidemagnumtoast We had what seems like the last in-person beer festival ever #pastrytown ... we made it through #bananagate and pushed the boundaries of beer as hard as we could with a virtual #greencity ⠀
    ⠀
We are thankful for our customers, supporters, friends and especially our team, and we cannot wait to welcome all of you back into our taprooms. We know that no matter what challenges we face next year, we’ll be able to get through it because of our employees who never waver in their commitment to Other Half or their resilience as human beings. ⠀
    ⠀
Thank you, and we look forward to what 2021 will bring with hope and with a community that's stronger than ever. ⠀
    ⠀
    -OHB"⠀

Intentional or not, it was a pleasant reminder of more trivial concerns in a simpler world. But we'll get back there soon enough.

With beers increasingly being sent between breweries, let's consolidate NYC/FLX/DC/DP (until some...body unnecessarily starts an OH DC thread)? Gotta set a page count record for @algebeeric_topology.

Rewatch "A Bug's Life", for some reason it get's lost in the Pixar world, but it's a solid version of "Seven Samurai".

Had a weird experience with an OH beer last night. They showed up in NJ and my brother in law gave me a can of small mosaic (6.5%). My wife drank it and immediately said it tasted like rubbing alcohol, she loves hoppy beers. I was shocked that a 6.5% beer would have that so I took a few sips. It had a boozy latexy alcohol burn. I’ve never tasted anything like that in an IPA of that abv before. Does this happen with some OH beers or did we just get unlucky?

    OH DC:

New year, new beer! We’re releasing our first can of 2021—New Year Sunrise Imperial IPA. Also dropping is Super Dense. Both cans will be available Friday for Curbside Pickup (link in bio to order). We're also open for outdoor seating from 1-8pm tomorrow.

New Year Sunrise Imperial IPA (10.0%) New Year (couldn't come soon enough!!!), new hop. At least to us. This NZ variety was relegated to the dustbin during the years of the great race for alpha hops, but it's back now that aroma and flavor are king. We've blended a large amount of NZ Pacific Sunrise hops in with a complementary amount of Citra hops in hopes of turning a page and starting off the year with something new. $20 per 4 pack.

HDHC Super Dense Imperial IPA (8.5%) Hopped at the equivalent of 13 lbs/bbl with Citra, Mosaic and Sabro this is one very dense beer. We used a blend of Incognito and Cryo hops to push this to the limits. $20 per 4 pack

I saw District96 posted yesterday that they were brewing a second batch of the OH collab for release on Monday. How is that even possible?

Delcarlia Speedway is throwing tons of melony goodness right now. Drink up if you got it! Also Citra+Strata seems to be an eventual crowd pleaser, upfront resiny notes and sweet melony backbone.

I feel like there's a precedent for keeping the multiple locations of a single brewery under a single thread- there aren't multiple Treehouse threads are there? I know that's easy to confirm but if I go find that myself I'm part of the problem not the solution and I'm a solution-oriented beer advocate.

What we really ought to stress about is OH opening a brewery outside the pre-defined region of the Mid-Atlantic, which would make a compelling case for a second thread. Anyone want to wager odds on that happening in 2021?
