Half Acre (2021)

Didn't they opt to just make a new variant each year? Like this year it will be a lager aged in Buffalo Trace barrels with Madagascar Vanilla and Cinnamon called Catch Helles?

 

Second Setting is tasting right for my palate Half Acre has the best IPAs in Chicago I never pick up a 4 pack and am disappointed

 

Yeah, picked up Second Setting as well today. Solid HA DIPA (disclaimer:I'm a sucker for Nelson hops used well). Even better this was distro'd. Nice start to 2021 imo.

Bro WTF. I’m actually trying to reduce the size of my cellar and I can’t possibly out drink the pace at which I’m buying with how regular these stouts releases are getting. First world probs I suppose

Cant confirm but if it is I will be getting it. Hell, I’ll probably be getting it if it’s only growler fills too

 

But what is it really? Has it been aged in one barrel and switched to another. Or is it aged in two types of barrels then blended? If two bourbon barrels and blended it really is just a gimmick and not much different from original. If the product spends twice as long aged in bourbon because it is in two different barrels then that is of interest.

 

My hope is for bourbon into rye barrels, or vice versa.

 

Gimmick or not, I wouldn't even be upset if it tasted exactly the same as the OG.

Either way, nice of them to collab with Rev for a 1-2 pickup on Friday.

 

Universe is the same company that has handled Prop Day entries the last 2 years. This isn't a new company.

I'm excited to hopefully get some of this. Looks like a pretty sexy beer.

 

Curious if this now replaces Catch Hell or if we will also see that release in the next few weeks? Looks like Catch Hell was released in February of 2020.

 

You mean besides the double barrel? Not sure, but at least some form of Catch Hell will be coming...
