Hi. OSU grad and former Columbusite now living in San Diego. Want to ask my dad to send me a six-pack of IPA from Columbus to drink while we watch the national championship game a week from Monday.

In the past, he has sent me Columbus Brewing IPA and I've enjoyed it, but it's been several years since I've had one and I don't know the state of their brewery these days.

Is that still a solid option or is there something else I should ask for? I prefer West Coast style, not hazy, and would want something he could pick up at Weiland's or maybe Pace High, as he lives in Clintonville and I don't want to send him running all over town.

Thanks in advance and go Bucks!

Columbus Brewing IPA or Bohdi is always a great option. And Weiland's is always one of the better bottle shops in the area so there should be good choices available there too. But if he's in Clintonville maybe you could get him to go to Derive or Lineage for some brews. Good luck!

Thanks @bluejacket74. Do Columbus Brewing IPA cans have a canned-on date on them? Hoping he can get some relatively fresh ones.

This is the correct answer. And I do believe they date stamp them.

Might be too early but if North High Stardust to Stardust is available I highly recommend it

Bodhi is now available in 12pks - might be worth the extra shipping to double up for the big game.

If Columbus IPA and Bodhi aren't to your liking, and if the beer doesn't have to be produced in Columbus, I'd be looking for Fat Head's Head Hunter.

Question. How much is a Bodhi 12pk? And how fresh are the cans ppl usually get?

I do not know the price, but 12 packs were just announced on 1/3, so I imagine that, at least for this first batch, they will be pretty fresh.

It's probably too late with shipping and it's not as sexy as a CBCO but Land Grant is accessible all over and their Stiff Arm is a really well-rounded, if not a bit sock you in the face, West Coast IPA. Super cheap too

Right now...Fatheads/Breakside Special Hoperations is out and it is freaking great. It is hazy, but not murky and its flavor profile is all West Coast. Huge hop bomb and quite bitter. Plenty of fruit (primarily citrus) and loads of pine. This beer is bananas...

He went with the Columbus Brewing IPA, the cans arrived on Friday.

Now we just need to get some BW3, White Castle and/or Wendy's and we're all set for kickoff haha.

I can get Wendy's, BW3 or (frozen) White Castle in San Diego, but no Donatos, Panzera's or Rotolo's :slight_frown:
