Wet, non-accumulating snow in NYC's northern suburbs. Only in the high 30's, but found it "cold as a witch's teet" when I walked the dog earlier. For those who haven't read "Catcher in the Rye," I recognize that it is a classic, but a bit of a dated and even (dare I say) overrated one (should have saved this for one of the controversy fora).

So, sitting by the fire, enjoying a Very Hazy from Tree House Brewing, my first (not of the day, but ever), reading The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch, a who-done-it 17th century period piece. The Very was very reminiscent of what I have from my Hazy notes only more. I have this week off, so I intend to relax, take the dog out, sit by the fire, and find out who did it.

I'm having a Du Hast from a local, Round Guys Brewing of Lansdale, PA. I generally really like these guys, but this is a miss. It's just a vague Marzen. There's maltiness and a hop back, but it's just blurry. Meh

BTW, has anyone noticed that BA seems to have a new autocorrect feature, or is that just me. Dammit, I effing hate autocorrect. I typed what I meant the first time.

Thank you. Never thought I would live on a curved street in the city, but I'm on East Circle in Norwood Park, one of the few streets in the city not on the grid. Norwood Park was one of the last villages to be annexed into Chicago on November 7, 1893. The entire Village was dry, and many precincts including mine remained dry until the last decade, when a liquor store and a few bars opened five years ago.

Also, love your Christmas tradition @dcotom , new to me (my first year in these threads) but greatly appreciated.

Didn't plan on a second, but pulled out a Black IPA to mourn the death of a lifelong Scouser. My Grandmother was from Liverpool, and Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers were beloved whether you were an Everton fan or Liverpool.

I definitely like this beer more than @scream! My brother is watching the Green Bay Packers game at bar on Bourbon St. in NOLA, this afternoon, wearing full Packers gear. I told him that if he makes it home, he better have some Parish Brewing's Ghost in the Machine for me.

Citra-hop pale ale, 5.8% abv - I'm still a sucker for Citra when it's done right, and this beer is done right - along with Zombie Dust, a fave from the APA set...

    Cheers...

Game face, game day. Game beer. I'll play along. Rare Trait, pre-gaming...

I suspect a particular result to today's game against the much-hated Packers, but I will DENY that I suspect that particular outcome. BEAR DOWN. Cheers!

Serious question. When do you personally feel is the threshold where the beard doesn't itch? I get to like day 7 or 8, and I always fold. I can't grow a beard for the simple fact that I can never get past the itching. Cheers!

Yesterday it was a beautiful 65 degree day in Atlanta. Today? 45 & overcast. Typical Atlanta during the winter. I'm not much for winter, especially the older I've gotten. But Arches Brewing just releases their seasonal Winter's Night Munich Dunkel. That helps ease the winter blahs a bit for me. Cheers to your Sunday afternoon!

When I drink this beer it's the closest thing to nirvana in beer form. As much as I love Tree House, there is no singular experience that quite captures the essence of Heady Topper. I love you. Time for some 2nd half NFL action! Let's go!!!

Drinking trip touch it doesn’t look anything to me. A double dry hopped pale L featuring Zappa cascade some cotton citra hops. This one is rather crushable not huge on taste. Still good.

This is a very good one. This one, Bitburger Drive, and Athletic Brewing ones are NA beers I keep around. I just don't drink soft drinks much anymore and I don't always want alcohol, so the NA beers have become a great option in my opinion. Great choice!

Taking down the Christmas lights always makes me sad. I know the joy doesn’t need to end, but it feels like a piece of it has.

I enjoyed modernism from Schilling Beer Co. so I decided to pick up another four pack. This time I got their landbier dunkel. I like this one very much as well. The stuff from Schilling makes me wonder if there may be space in my life for pricey four pack of 16 oz cans.
