    Guinness West Indies Porter.

A good one, Porter as a style are far and few here, at least regarding mainstream breweries. Happy to sip on a prime example from the paddies.

    Sláinte!

Bad Ronald. Not sure if that rings a bell to some here. Maybe to a few millennials, that used to light the weed, tap the keg, shoot the sh*t...

Good day BAs! Off to another nondescript winter morning here on the NW PA tundra - cool but not arctic, currently no precipitation but that can change anytime (may get some snizzle, may not), no trace of the sun, just a grayish wash in the general direction of the sky. It seems only fitting to start the day with this New Breakfast Beer:

Sorry Terry - I wish my can had some licorice flavor or even diacetyl rather than the bitter apricot I tasted and is still hanging in my mouth. Xin loi! Rating 3.09, rDev +5.8%.

Good morning BAs! I took yesterday off as I hope to drink less/less frequently this new year...we will see...

A cool clear crisp 52° for dog walk this morning...chores done - coffee time - Underground Mountain Brown:

Bottled 8/25/20. Poured at 53°. Lovely chocolate, roast coffee and bourbon. A little warmth from 11.9%. A great beer, reasonably priced...I don’t know why I don’t buy more when I see it released each year. Cheers and have a temperate Tuesday y’all!

@dcotom has reached the Twelve Day of Christmas. I'm on the seventh day after cracking open this ice cold Budweiser.

Will remain with the drumming theme on this Two for Tuesday with Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers.

been a while since I’ve had this and I actually enjoyed it. Been looking for more English style so this is the first of that kick.

Look is caramel color. Bone white head dissipates to nothing. I like a vigorous pour but no dice here. Smell is largely toasty. Some unsweet dulce de leche if that makes sense. Tinge of alcohol. Taste is big dark toast crusts, honey. The tinge of alcohol keeps this balanced. Noble hop type flavors even. Smooth. Dry. Some what crispy. Thin for the style but not a thin beer. I don’t like the whole “caramel color” thing and I feel like it is filmy in the mouth but never the less I’m a fan of this. It drinks like a 5.5% but feels so easy and you can tell you are drinking a beer.

my new favorite band. These kids rules and remind me of the Sex Pistols a lot.

Then some work at home, a nice run since it's a gorgeous dry day here (again).
This winter drought from La Nina is brutal on plants/trees, but great for hooman running.
    Cheers!

    Vault Brewing,
    Bear Hugs. 6%
    Nitro Oatmeal Stout.
    Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Solid black. Brown tinge. Mocha head. Glorious nitro cascade. Subtle smells of coffee, mocha, choco and roasted malts. Tastes of huge marshmallow and milk chocolate. Bittersweet. Earthy. Feel is pillowy and soft. Thick bodied but immensely drinkable. I adored this one.

I’ve been House cleaning all morning...can only mean that our house keeper is coming later today!

Taking a coffee break now that Mrs. Z has arisen - FBS:

Bottled 9/9/20. Poured at 54°. This beer is accessible and available year ‘round...likely the reason I buy just a 4/pk of Underground Mountain Brown, KBS, etc. at a time. True, the more expensive beers have more flavor, but FBS suits my palate and is a darn fine coffee stout at a good price, for day in/day out morning drinking. Cheers!

This combination of Tequila and Bourbon Barrels is a bit strange for my palate. But maybe this is the flavor they were looking for. It works, and it is tasty. I do like the coffee and the muted Cinnamon here. Get more Tequila then Bourbon on the Barrel characteristics. Enjoyable.
