What beer are you drinking now? #3000

Still celebrating the King of Beers as I work my way through the Christmas 12 pack purchased last month, and also reaching the #3000 What Beer Are You Drinking Now Milestone!



After I finish this, chili and a Chicago style tamale, planning a walk to one or two grocery stores on this beautiful above freezing Chicago Winter Day.

Gave up cable in the 90s, but these two shows remain remembered and loved.

Wow this is spectacular! Unique in the supporting flavors and a perfect change up from stout season. I might have to hunt down a bottle to age

I remember when I didn’t know about craft beer. I’d drink Guinness or Newcastle whatever else. Even before I had a Boston Lager I had a 60 minute. I was with the fire department, 2013 I think. Guys were talking about this beer I never heard of saying how good it was. Flash forward I moved to the shore the next spring time and found it. the name of the beer sounded familiar and I picked it up.

coincidentally I pour it into a glass and notice the wildly tight foam sticking around as it does not in a rolling rock or PBR. Lol. It smelled like a grapefruit and it tasted like I just ate a flower and I couldn’t get over it and here I am now. The beer that threw me down the rabbit hole.

 

Thought I'd finished all of these, but listening to tunes and internet radio this morning.
I'm.... a little shocked. But hey.

It's not an 8 year old photo, just an old beer from the recent finding of dusties packed away in the basement. Nicely carbed and has a sweet slightly spicy caramel apple taste. I don't buy many Christmas beers anymore but I'll have to put this old favorite back on the list.

On a sad note it will be time to start the arduous process of packing the Christmas joy away until November. The darker rooms always take a couple of weeks to get accustomed to.

 

Stillwater - Kung Pao (16oz can).. it's an Imperial Stout brewed with chili powder, ginger powder, Sichuan powder, sea salt and peanut extract.. cheers!

 

Having my last bottle of local Mystic Day of Doom quadrupel from 2017. Real nice, rich, malty, fruity, hint of spice, mild tartness, roasty chocolate, caramel, dark brown sugar, molasses, dark berry notes, dried cherry, raisin, plum, toasted bread, tobacco. Cheers everyone!

Merry Christmas ☆ Happy New Year

Despite the recent events We had an extraordinary Christmas this past year. Lots to be thankful for and much appreciation to those who went above and beyond to make it so...

My wife had her 2nd lung surgery Monday. She's home now resting. Hopefully this will be her last.
She's had 3 operations in the last year and half because of cancer.

I have the week off from work to help out when I can. Just finished cooking/eating pork stir fry for lunch.
