Oh boy, 2 days removed from saying I wish I had more CdC b4.

Not as familiar with 3, but found 4 to be absolutely delicious, especially the more it warmed. It was very close to that Tete balance, and far less acidic than many of their other bottles.

Well CDC 3 is definitely acidic

CDC 3 and 4 are entirely different beers. If you don’t like acidic, you won’t like 3.

    Anybody get CdC#3 package?

Looks like they posted on IG about past 2020 bottles, but then pulled the post.

I think there's issues with getting the listing to show up properly that they're trying to iron out

Reading into that a little, I'm getting vibes it's quite sour then, which is unfortunate. Don't get me wrong, I love tart beers, but I notice this and a lot of their other bottles are labeled as saison, but I think a hallmark of the style is exercising a deft hand at balancing acidity and reigning in souring components to let all other components work together for a more rounded experience.

Those that SP does well tend to be blends, and are also some of their highest rated brews. But one I was most disappointed in was FdF.

We're having this debate in a styles forum, and I think this is where the vague classification like Wild Ale comes in to play, where a lot of American breweries were finding their own way to make sour beers and were hard to classify early on, so this new category needed creating. I know SP's intent for many of these beers is to produce saison, but I don't think they're achieving it in many cases, and breweries like them and Casey can make it hard to classify and skew consumer's perception of the style if they haven't had a lot of examples of saison.

It also didn’t help that people can’t read and bought extras.

This is so frustrating. Its bad enough we didn't get a chance at tete. Normal people should have a shot at their top tier saisons.

A lot of beer memberships let their members have first crack at everything and potentially buy it all out. Not many go out of their way to make sure they hold plenty of bottles back for public release, let alone have public only bottles.

The last OF was member only and the first was a tiny release, so I wouldn’t expect it to be a big public sale.

Don’t know what to tell you.

OF b2 wasn’t public. OF b3 I’d have bought all of the leftovers if they let me haha
